13/02/2025: It is a not very large but very welcoming place located high up, next to an ancient tower, in a green setting overlooking the sea. The dishes offered vary daily and are treated with the care of "nouvelle cuisine" but, despite their particularity, they are not pretentious and, I must say, very good. The choice of wines is also good. Exceptional service. I was there in the winter but the location invites a visit in the summer. It is also important to book well in advance.

20/11/2024: If you're a meat lover, you can't help but come to this place. The quality of the products is simply exceptional. Tried a meat tasting (3 types) and they were an indescribable delight. Great courtesy also from the staff who know how to advise in case there was any doubt about what to order.

12/11/2024: Last night three friends (we are from the restaurant business) went to this place and we left enthusiastic! The environment is warm and welcoming, perfect for a convivial evening. The staff is super friendly, knowledgeable and really helpful, always attentive to every need. We started with a trio of tartare: very fresh meat, delicious in every variation. Then came the Danish rib eye, cooked to perfection, very tender and juicy. To complete the dish, wild chicory harvested that same morning and fresh potatoes, expertly fried. The chef, who passed between the tables several times to make sure everything was perfect, advised us to also try the picanha and the entrecôte, both sublime cuts, cooked impeccably. Finally, the owner was kind enough to offer us bitters and cigars to accompany after dinner, a treat that made the experience even more special. Excellent value for money: impeccable service, excellent ingredients, and an atmosphere in which you feel pampered. We accompanied everything with a splendid bottle of Iachello di Russo and Longo. Highly recommended, we will definitely be back!

Delicious and plentiful food, professional, kind and very patient waiters; Friendly and helpful owners; And a location that doesn't appear in the photo, much more beautiful when you see it live and experience it. The atmosphere is as delightful as the food! From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family by the owners and staff. Their warm hospitality made us feel right at home. The highlight was the small platters of local specialties that just kept coming until we were almost full—though we couldn't resist tasting every dish because they were simply that good! 16/11/2024: I had been living in Tropea for a few weeks and this place and their sister restaurant, la dispensa by boca, are my favorite spots by far. The food is amazing, I enjoyed every meal and kept going back. I tried a few of the pasta dishes and main courses, and all are delicious, including the friesian sirloin steak, which was perfectly cooked. the three course tasting menu is a very good value. All of the seafood was very fresh and very well prepared. I loved how they mixed flavors and explored new ways of incorporating Calabrese staples. Each meal was a really fun foodie experience. The wine selection is also excellent. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and excited about the food and wine. It’s also beautiful as it is in the square next to the duomo. This is a must visit when in Tropea, enjoy!

02/02/2025: The Cantina del Macellaio is always a guarantee: the food is very good, the environment is perfect for conversing and sharing, the staff are kind and knowledgeable, the raw materials (and not just the meat) are of excellent quality. The biggest problem is that I can never photograph the dishes: the atmosphere invites conversation, the courses alternate - and end - before I manage to remember to take out my phone and create a gallery of images. So I'm going from memory. Starting with wine. There are many choices from the best Calabrian and non-Calabrian wineries, but if you love red don't miss the house one: a pure Cirò, served loose in half-litre or liter jugs. A red that has an edge. Then the appetizers. Calabrian cuisine has endless offers of starters, apart from the usual platters of cured meats, sausages and zero-mile cheeses or so. And so you can't avoid tasting the hot appetizers, from aubergine parmigiana to meatballs, aubergines and meatballs, as well as arancini, croquettes and vegetable flans. On the first courses it's just a matter of taste, but the stronnatura (a typical pasta, similar to wholemeal tonnarelli, for those who have never tried it) reigns supreme. His death (of the stinging) is with anchovies and breadcrumbs, but the variations are infinite. And then the seconds. Top quality meat, in every cut and every possible type of cooking: from sliced ​​meat (with rocket and parmesan) to fillet, from rolls to baked suckling pig, through Angus and any other "butcher" desire. Sweets to finish (if you still have room in your stomach) and typical bitters that are added to the usual ones. The price more than adequate for the quality and quantity of the ingredients.

30/01/2025: This is far-fetched. 4 is ok, but I expect a certain level from restaurants. The staff should know the language and be helpful and give advice. That's what's missing here. Perhaps this is so, and due to the lack of language there is a barrier that is difficult to overcome. As for the kitchen, I haven't had a culinary adventure.

15/01/2025: Excellent meat, abundant and tasty dishes. Excellent value for money. A pit stop of taste and satiety with a limited expense that is absolutely worth experiencing and trying an evening in the Aiello grill that cannot be missed.

05/11/2024: Laat je niet afschrikken door de ingang want dat is voor de take out ! In een apart stuk kan je zitten . Wij aten overheerlijke malse steak met een slaatje en frieten . Perfecte cuisson . Als dessert nog een tiramisu en het was meer dan geslaagd . Leffe van het vat !

12/02/2025: We were in this place during a weekend in Camigliatello... and we decided to have dinner at Uncle Silvio's. As appetizers we took Silane potatoes with porcini mushrooms, grilled caciocavallo, breaded and fried porcini mushrooms. Three first courses Risotto with porcini mushrooms, Scialatielli alla silana with sausage, Strozzapreti wild boar ragù as a second course for a slice of beef All washed down with an excellent local wine... unquestionable availability and courtesy of the staff. At the end of the meal we enjoyed mini chocolate, truffle and salted caramel cheesecakes! The price was reasonable based on the quality of what we consumed..

01/01/2025: Got the worse food poisoning from their oysters. Probably will never eat here again ! But also a tip : always check with the fork if the oysters are alive. If they are not , don’t eat it.

15/12/2024: If we could give this place 6 stars we would!! We ordered the French flights, steak frites, the swordfish, and crème brûlée. It was delicious!! Our waiter Djamal (the D is silent) was amazing. His service is outstanding! He was extremely attentive, and one of the loveliest waiters we’ve ever encountered in our dining experiences spread across the world. Our new favorite local spot 😊

04/09/2024: Abbiamo pranzato il giorno di ferragosto e nonostante la sala fosse piena e i tempi di attesa un po’ più lunghi rispetto al solito siamo rimasti più che soddisfatti.Pranzo che sa di casa, ricorda i sapori tradizionali delle cose cucinate da mia nonna che non assaggiavo ormai da tempo, prodotti tipici fatti da loro davvero eccellenti ed ottimo anche il pane. Complimenti a tutto lo staff, soprattutto ai ragazzi della sala sempre sorridenti che si prendono cura dei clienti con garbo e gentilezza.

04/09/2024: A cena per la seconda volta in questo ristorantino a due passi dal centro di Serra San Bruno. Abbiamo iniziato con il loro antipasto STREPITOSO, come sempre con tante preparazioni della casa ed un mix di formaggi e salumi di produzione del Sig. Giuseppe e la Sig.ra Rita non che i proprietari del locale. Tutto fantastico, compreso il servizio della ragazza che ci ha accolti con un grande sorriso e che non finisce mai di stupirci con tutte le spiegazioni sulle varie tipologie di carne che possono offrire e sulle varie cotture. Preparatissima su tutto e soprattutto gentilissima. Carne squisita e cotta a puntino !!! Non finiscono mai di stupirci, da provare assolutamente!!! L'eccellenza in zona.
