18/08/2025: A lovely place in the center of Gallarate, in the pedestrian area, where you can enjoy excellent beer and appetizers. A bit small, but in the summer they also have outdoor seating.
The chalkboard menu features excellent burgers, but I was there for an aperitivo.
14/07/2025: I found it somewhat by chance, and was immediately struck by the interior decor and the friendly owners. The pub has a strong pirate theme, with dark, welcoming colors. The menu offers a good selection, especially alcoholic beverages, and the attentive and helpful service immediately put me at ease. Prices are reasonable for a downtown pub. The burgers are quite good, and the platters are generous and perfect for an aperitif or appetizer. I'll definitely be back.

09/09/2025: A small place, but with plenty of outdoor tables, and a quaint atmosphere: part Bavarian gasthaus, part local tavern.
The dishes are well-chosen and inviting, and they occasionally host themed days featuring delicious regional dishes.
There's a wide selection of sandwiches and piadinas.
In addition to Italian craft beers, they also have excellent German beers.
Friendly staff.
Prices are fair, I'd say; considering the type of place and its central location (in the pedestrian zone), they're not at all expensive.
I had a great time there and would gladly return.
24/07/2025: Il personale è molto gentile e panini e piadine sono di buona fattura. Il menù in questo genere si presenta molto vario ma forse mancano altri tipi di stuzzicherie che potrebbero completarlo al meglio. Anche la selezione delle birre alla spina e in bottiglia è buona ma potrebbe essere forse un po' più vasta vista la tipologia del locale.
Il posto è piccolo ma con un'atmosfera curata ed accogliente che lo rende una scelta intima e abbastanza originale nella zona centrale della piazza principale di Gallarate.

04/09/2025: What a wonderful discovery in the old town of Gallarate! The atmosphere is very cozy, rockin', and a bit alternative. The service was super relaxed and accommodating when I stopped by with my kids. I wouldn't have expected such delicious food from a pub specializing in beer. The chicken burger was perfect, the fries were crispy, and the little nuggets were tender, crispy, and flavorful all at once. Super delicious and highly recommended!
Another plus is that the Barley House is queer-friendly 😊

22/02/2025: È proprio vero che il buongiorno si vede dal mattino. Al nostro arrivo non hanno neanche salutato. Idem quando siamo usciti dalla pasticceria.
22/01/2025: Bel locale nella centrale Gallarate, peccato l'assenza di cortesia da parte del personale che,al nostro arrivo, non ha neppure salutato, non è previsto il servizio al tavolo e vieni letteralmente abbandonato a te stesso. Una ulteriore pecca la sporcizia rinvenuta sotto ai piedi del nostro tavolino e nel retro bottega come da foto. Mentre tenti di degustare con tranquillità la tua colazione, vieni continuamente disturbato da una responsabile che letteralmente fa i mestieri di casa vicino al tuo tavolo, non curante della polvere prodotta dal suo andi e rivieni con scopa e paletta. Un peccato veramente.
Probabilmente, non ritengono opportuno una migliore attenzione verso il cliente. Voto:3 - -
