I Capricci di Merion
Tuoro sul trasimeno
28/01/2026: We stayed at this property for three nights. The villa is surrounded by a large garden with manicured flowerbeds and well-marked paths, and has ample parking, partially covered. Upon entering, you're greeted by a living room with sofas, a bookcase, and the warmth of a large fireplace that transports you back in time. Our suite, located on the first floor, called Byron, consisted of an antechamber with a bean-shaped writing desk, a tea corner, and two armchairs. The bedroom had its original floor with geometric designs and vintage hexagonal tiles in white, gray, black, and brick-colored, Empire-style furnishings, and all the comforts to make your stay enjoyable: a large TV, Sky connection, and a fully stocked minibar. A small hallway with a closet leads to the bathroom with a window, spacious and comfortable fixtures, and a generously sized courtesy kit and hairdryer. The room also has a small terrace with a table and chairs, the only one on the entire façade of the building. The indoor pool is located on a veranda directly connected to the building, and its large windows overlook the olive grove. The pool features built-in seating and loungers with hydromassage and a neck massage waterfall, as well as a relaxation area. A small but welcoming massage room is available, offering a variety of massages upon reservation. The villa's true gem is the spa, which can be booked for exclusive use. It includes a sauna, emotional shower, a well-stocked herbal tea corner, and a couples' hot tub on a mezzanine level. A small relaxation area complete with wooden loungers and the option of fresh fruit and sparkling wine is also available. A truly wonderful little world for couples! The restaurant, also open to outside guests, is located largely on a veranda/greenhouse overlooking the garden. The furnishings consist of beautiful lava stone tables with black/grey, glossy/matte hues, allowing for a simple table setting given their intrinsic elegance. Contrasting yet perfectly complementing are the Ancien Régime-style chairs with multicolored upholstery. The menu includes meat and fish dishes. Among the various dishes we sampled, the flame-cooked prawns with chickpea puree and cuttlefish lard and the double-cooked octopus tentacle with creamed cannellini beans, turnip tops, and nduja are a real must. The veal fillet with cardoncelli and cucunci mushrooms and the linguine with butter, anchovies, fennel, and lemon were also excellent. Among the desserts, the creamy buffalo ricotta, pear, orange, and walnut dessert and the soft coconut, mango, pineapple, and passion fruit sorbet delight both the eye and the palate. The wine list is impressive, with national and international selections, not forgetting local specialties. The international-style breakfast offers a wide selection of sweet and savory options, along with juices and detox waters. The staff are a true asset: the reception staff is renowned for their helpfulness, kindness, and efficiency, while the dining room staff is renowned for their professionalism, courtesy, attention, and preparation. Our heartfelt congratulations!!!
P.S. We already feel a strong desire to return!!
