25/10/2025: I waited an hour for two pizzas. The waitresses were really kind and cheerful, but the wait was way too long. The pizza was truly spectacular, but unfortunately, I'm not sure it was worth the wait. I'll definitely be back to see if it was a coincidence or not... sorry.

09/11/2025: After three years, I returned to this place with friends, and I must say the food is always excellent and the welcome is equally warm. Well done, keep it up!
01/11/2025: Great surprise. We walked in without any recommendations and it was a great surprise. Very well prepared dishes, good selection of dishes, super friendly host and owner which is also the cook. Every dish was great, and the had wide selection of Gluten free dishes which were excellent. Gluten free deserts as well. Highly recommend.

07/05/2025: We'd already eaten at this bar-pizzeria-diner, as it was the only place open for lunch in Rocca di Mezzo. We'd had a great time, so we wanted to repeat the experience. The place is very small, with only three tables, but you usually wait very quickly. The menu, aside from the pizza, is limited: 4/5 first courses (the soups are excellent), the same number of second courses (try the roasted caciotta), and side dishes. There's a wider selection of desserts (the tarts are delicious). The menu, however, changes frequently. The icing on the cake is the friendliness and courtesy of the ladies who always greeted us with a smile.
30/04/2025: Avevamo già mangiato in questo bar-pizzeria-tavola calda, perché era l'unico locale aperto a pranzo a Rocca di Mezzo. Ci eravamo trovati molto bene, per cui abbiamo voluto ripetere l'esperienza. Il locale è molto piccolo ed offre solo tre tavoli per potersi sedere, ma solitamente, si aspetta molto poco. La scelta delle pietanze, a parte la pizzeria, è limitata: 4/5 primi (ottime le zuppe), altrettanti i secondi (da provare la caciotta arrosto) ed i contorni. Più scelta per i dolci (buonissime le crostate). Il menù, in compenso, varia molto spesso. La ciliegina sulla torta è la simpatia e la cortesia delle signore che ci hanno sempre accolto con un sorriso.

27/09/2025: Excellent arrosticini and mutton. I can't say much about the first courses because we didn't order them. Prices are good, croissants, service is ok. There was a bit of a wait for the bill, but nothing excessive. Nice and welcoming place.

08/11/2025: We set out with the idea of grabbing a quick slice of pizza at Lucio's, but when it was closed, we wandered over to this restaurant and decided to give it a try, partly because of the warm welcome we received. It was a wonderful discovery: we ordered OVO64, a must-try if you love soft-boiled eggs, a cream of pumpkin soup, braised cheek on puree, and a crème caramel. Everything was excellent, beautifully presented, and the service was attentive and courteous. Excellent value for money. We'll definitely be back.
11/10/2025: Nice, quaint little restaurant. I had an excellent stew, even though we arrived after 2:30 PM. Excellent wine list. Reasonable prices.

The risottos and fillets exceeded all expectations.
30/11/2025: A somewhat hidden restaurant in the upper part of town. The interior is beautiful, with a vaulted ceiling and lots of stone. A good dinner at a fair price. Quite quiet. A pleasant evening.

29/07/2025: Ottimo il cibo. Selezione di vini raffinata e variegata. Servizio gentile e attento al senza glutine con pasta fatta a mano. Finito il pranzo non abbiamo potuto fare a meno di riprenotare il prima possibile. Da provare

23/11/2025: I had a truly excellent pork tagliata with porcini mushrooms. My husband also had a truly delicious roast beef. The review rating for this place doesn't match the quality of the food, which I found much better than other restaurants with higher ratings.
18/10/2025: Kindness and professionalism are evident in the welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere.
The owner, Massimo, is always courteous and friendly.

27/11/2025: I'd like to write another review, to complement the previous one. I contacted Booking.com and spoke to a representative who was extremely humane, unlike the man who works at the hotel, who refused to listen to reason or try to help us. The Booking representative assisted us and, to our great relief, managed to cancel our reservation free of charge. We had asked to reschedule, but the representative clearly understood that it would be a terrible stay, given previous incidents with the hotel, and to avoid any unpleasantness, she worked on our behalf to get us to cancel. We are deeply grateful. I advise you NOT to book this hotel through Booking.com, because if anything serious happens to you, they won't provide assistance or listen to you, and, I quote, "we don't earn anything from Booking.com bookings." When I called to ask why my date change requests were being denied, I was told that it was Booking.com that was denying them. The Booking agent, however, said it's the property because they have an internal calendar and know what's available based on bookings from other sites. I'm so happy we don't have to come to your property.
I wish you the day you deserve.
12/10/2025: Hotel in need of renovation, bathrooms in need of redoing, breakfast and lunch were good, the only redeeming feature was the excellent location.

03/09/2025: Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience in every way. Plain croissants cost €1.80, table service costs extra: truly out of line prices, especially for Rocca di Mezzo.
Any other bar offers the same quality at half the price. The place seems to thrive on its former glory, but the quality and customer service are noticeably declining. A real shame, because with a little more attention and more honest prices, it could be a benchmark.
30/08/2025: This gelateria was our home for the entire week we stayed in Rocca di Mezzo. The gelato is very good and very reasonably priced. €2.50 for a cone with two flavors and whipped cream.
I recommend it!

09/06/2025: Si mangia molto bene e le quantità non sono da dieta ipocalorica. Complimenti allo chef per la cura e gli abbinamenti del menù. Il contesto poi aggiunge un di più all'esperienza. Personale gentile e disponibile. Molto consigliato.
28/12/2024: Purtroppo delusi, 5 euro a persona x coperto con tovaglie e tovaglioli di carta . Bistecca cottura media durissima, piatto nudo avendo chiesto senza funghi e pagato lo stesso prezzo. Polpette dure , 1 primo 2 secondi e 1 antipasto, 1 dolce , 1 acqua e 1 coca : 84. Euro. Delusissima. Era meglio quando era più rustico. Purtroppo mediocre. E ci torno ogni inverno.

02/02/2025: Pessimo locale in balia della disorganizzazione, ci siamo fermati per un aperitivo ma è stato l'aperitivo più cattivo mai consumato. Abbiamo chiesto dei campari spritz con gin ci hanno portato un qualcosa che non so casa potesse essere, senza due patatine ne olive ne noccioline, dopo aver insistito hanno portato delle pessime patatine stantive. Lo sconsiglio vivamente, se capitate a Campo Felice evitate La Capannina.

Perché pranzare altrove? Non c'è di meglio in zona. Coratella coi carciofini, carciofi alla brace, tagliolini al burro di Normandia e abbondante tartufo nero grattugiato , spezzatino di cinghiale e gustosi e teneri friarielli. E che dire di Alessandro , della sua disponibilità e gentilezza?
Unitamente al proprietario Fabio sono le colonne di questa locanda. Devo fare i complimenti anche al personale della cucina che puntualmente realizza i piatti richiesti
22/02/2025: Locale eccezionale, situato in nella zona pianeggiante all'entrata del paese di Rovere per chi viene da Ovindoli. Il paesaggio è indubbiamente molto bello. La locanda è un unico edificio con una sala interna piuttosto modesta e tavoli all'esterno dove è possibile mangiare nelle giornate di bel tempo. Menù di cucina tipica abruzzese davvero eccellente. Abbiamo assaggiato gli gnocchetti porcini e tartufo, la zuppa fagioli e porcini, gli arrosticini, il carciofo alla piastra e il caciocavallo miele e pistacchio: tutto ottimo. Prezzi contenuti. Consigliatissimo!
