Very nice staff, love when people smile ✨ The cheese/meat/bread/glass of red were excellent but 29 euro is too much for a small plate like this, I don’t think it’s even 200gram of meat.

I had lunch for the first time at Taverna Volpetti, an offshoot of the famous deli of the same name in Testaccio. I must say I went in with high expectations and left slightly disappointed. I ordered a charcuterie board as an appetizer and spaghetti carbonara. The board, which included a selection of cheeses and honey, was overall satisfying, but I can't say the same about the carbonara. The cream was, in my opinion, too thick, and the tasting was a bit difficult; honestly, the plate—overly large—also contributed to the overall experience. Overall, the prices seemed a bit high for the area, but I understand the sourcing of the finest ingredients and the selection of some truly unique wines. Perhaps €11 for a glass is still a bit too much.

My husband and I were lucky enough to be walking down the street when we saw this amazing wine and cheese bar… although now we know it’s a restaurant as well! We sat for hours and had a couple bottles of wine with an accompanied cheeseboard. We let them choose for us based on our preferences and it did not disappoint. Full charcuterie boards are also available. The wine was outstanding, the cheeses were delicious and the service was impeccable. Super friendly and helpful, never hovering. Can’t wait to go back the next time we are in town!!

Pretentious, good food but marketed as excellent, high prices for modest portions. Desserts €9, a glass of white wine from Lazio €11—not quite there.

It's always a pleasure to go there

This was probably the best restaurant during our one week visit to Rome. Very good food with high quality ingredients.

Our pasta was better than average. Service was friendly but a bit slow. Wine was expensive, but maybe I should have known the wine I ordered was expensive type.

We tried, and thoroughly enjoyed, the grilled porcini mushrooms with Castelmagno cheese and the Prussian beef with cardoncelli ragù on a potato disc. The Amarone was good. This historic restaurant (1973) deserved a visit a long time ago and a lovely review, which is too often neglected when you're having a good time, when it seems more fun to write negative reviews, when all you have to do is erase them if they're getting old, very, very badly. (Forgive the digression.) We'll definitely return.

I visited Trattoria Volpetta in Rome and I must say it was a delightful discovery. The atmosphere was welcoming, the service attentive, and the dishes were meticulously prepared. I enjoyed the food—everything was fresh, with authentic, well-balanced flavors—but what really surprised me was the gorgonzola semifreddo: an original, refined, and perfectly executed dessert, combining creaminess and character in a truly unique way. That alone is worth the visit!
