Our pasta was better than average. Service was friendly but a bit slow. Wine was expensive, but maybe I should have known the wine I ordered was expensive type.

We tried, and thoroughly enjoyed, the grilled porcini mushrooms with Castelmagno cheese and the Prussian beef with cardoncelli ragù on a potato disc.
The Amarone was good.
This historic restaurant (1973) deserved a visit a long time ago and a lovely review, which is too often neglected when you're having a good time, when it seems more fun to write negative reviews, when all you have to do is erase them if they're getting old, very, very badly. (Forgive the digression.)
We'll definitely return.

I visited Trattoria Volpetta in Rome and I must say it was a delightful discovery. The atmosphere was welcoming, the service attentive, and the dishes were meticulously prepared. I enjoyed the food—everything was fresh, with authentic, well-balanced flavors—but what really surprised me was the gorgonzola semifreddo: an original, refined, and perfectly executed dessert, combining creaminess and character in a truly unique way. That alone is worth the visit!

I used to come here before the pandemic and I haven't been for 4 years, but after the food today I'll definitely be back. The quality is excellent and the offering is much more interesting than most restaurants in Rome. Delicious!

In keeping with the gourmet shop next door, everything is very good and well-curated, both in the selection of dishes (even lighter dishes at lunchtime) and the selection of wines, with excellent options by the glass.
I stand by my rating from some time ago, even with the complete change of management of both the shop and the Taverna, but the offerings are still excellent, both in terms of dishes and by the glass (today the fregola and sautéed mushrooms are excellent).
