An historic Roman taverna still retaining an authentic atmosphere. The food is excellent, a variety of dishes for everyone, seasonal and everything is freshly made in-house including the pasta and the desserts. I highly recommend stopping by the Volpetti Taverna for lunch or dinner and visiting the Volpetti Salumerie for an aperative and for carefully selected produce to buy and take away.

To date, Roman catering thrives on dazzling chic or simply on formulas where "the pan" is a dish. We are in a situation where the Jubilee brings tourism of "faithful", not to tradition but simply to what concerns the religious side to the detriment of the culinary one. And here a reality creeps in that makes its Historicity, Authenticity and Delicacy its winning weapon. Taverna Volpetti perfectly reincarnates the luxury of the spirit of history, tradition and passion which ensure that on the table there are only the pleasures of flavors and the authenticity of their compositions. I found in this restaurant a quality that goes beyond the description of the dish, beyond the taste of the products, beyond the flavor of their preparations. Everything in this environment devoted to good wine and excellent cured meats is designed to be a very high quality delicatessen where it was a pleasure to get lost in choosing the best dish. Led in the dining room by Andrea, the present, welcoming and knowledgeable Director, it was an honor to have the restaurant staff advise us step by step on the succession of dishes. Everything was perfect and the bill was in perfect line with the quality of the dinner. To return again and again!

We were delighted! The waiter (of French origin) made us taste the wine before service even though we ordered wine by the glass, which is rare enough to be noted. Excellent charcuterie and cheese board with a selection from their delicatessen. Very good dishes and desserts. The best restaurant of our stay.

The food was so delicious!! I can only recommend the artichoke, it was one of the best things I've ever eaten. It took a while for the main courses to arrive, but it was worth the wait.

We loved every bite. The Umbrine was beautifully cooked but not as beautifully as the lamb shank, which was unbelievable. The staff found us a little corner, although they were really busy and we really appreciated the great service, along with the exceptional food.

Locale caratteristico adiacente la storica ed omonima gastronomia. Buoni i salumi , discreti primi ed ottimi i dolci. Servizio un po’ lento, il cameriere più rappresentativo, peraltro assunto da poco, cercava di spiegare i piatti, non sempre riuscendoci l’altro cameriere è come se non ci fosse. Il menù con tendenze verso il gourmet, manca di alcuni piatti della tradizione romana. Molto onesto, il conto.

Sono tornato in questo ristorante dopo qualche tempo. Che dire, meravigliosa sorpresa! La nuova gestione è un’iniezione di inventiva ed entusiasmo. Abbiamo mangiato benissimo e ci siamo sentiti coccolati per tutto il tempo. Servizio impeccabile, cibo buonissimo, preparato ad arte e consigli sul vino in abbinamento perfetti. Che dire di più? Ah, sì, che torneremo presto. I prezzi sono ovviamente in linea con la qualità del cibo, quindi più che onesti per quanto offerto. Quando la ristorazione funziona, tutto torna. Bravissimi!
