Very tasty coffee and pistachio cornetto (although it could be a bit less sweet, e.g. without sugar on top of the cornetto). Canollo also tasty. Very nice and smiling staff. It's a pity that they have so few tables outside, but it's also nice inside.

My wife and I stayed in Ortigia for a month and every day we went to Viola Bakery, both to have breakfast and to have a simple coffee. The environment is very welcoming, you can eat quickly or stay for a long time reading the newspapers available on site. The wi-fi connection is excellent, so many visitors take advantage of it to work and/or study on the PC. Sometimes it feels more like a library than a bar! We have never tasted anything savory but coffee, juices, croissants and desserts in general are excellent. A compliment also to Daniela, the owner, always very helpful and kind. Highly recommended!

Staff was friendly and helpful and the environment was nice. The lack of 5 stars is due to the fact that absolutely no one in sicily seems to be able to make a decent croissant. As with every bakery I tried in sicily, the croissants are similar to day old dry baked goods one would find at walmart.

Lovely cafe. Looks tiny, but super spacious with lots of cute little corners inside. Very cosy. Mix of locals and tourists catching up, reading, working on laptops. Perfect work spot with strong WiFi. Coffee was great. Orange juice so fresh and delicious. Bacon and eggs cooked and seasoned to perfection. Bread fresh and fluffy. Pastries looked delicious- will come back and try. Prices so generous Service was amazing - super sweet, friendly and attentive. Great playlist. 100% recommend.

Buena cafetería y buena pastelería. Servicio muy amable. Perfecto para una parada mientras camina por la ciudad. Además de pastelería tienen pequeños bocadillos que son buenos.

Il Pesce Azzurro Osteria

21/04/2025: Small restaurant in the center of Ortigia. Despite being an extremely touristy place, I can say I ate very well. I got the raw appetizer and it was excellent. The pasta with blue fish is also very good. Quiet environment. Service good but could be improved.
17/04/2025: A hidden gem in the middle of a rather tourist filled alley. Ignore the neon light from the fridges, the seafood here is marvellous! The raw red prawns to die for, the gnocchetti with clams amazing. Spaghetti with clams super nice. Recommendation!
