As soon as you pass the "sole" there is more fish, but above all you take a real and very pleasant dive for those who have experienced them and not only in the eighties as an environment, you eat very well, you spend the right amount, and there is the non plus ultra THE ICE CREAM which makes you appreciate and appreciate everything, and then after this experience when you go out you return to the cruel world. It's worth it just for the ice cream.

Very friendly staff, a little dated but very clean environment. Prices different from those published and higher. Decent food, the swordfish to be avoided.... fish not good at all. Show less

The place is welcoming, it has that old tavern look that makes you feel at home... the large wood-burning oven placed at the back of the room warms the environment and also the atmosphere, the historic manager follows the customers with friendliness and attention. Excellent food quality/price. The strictly homemade ice cream must absolutely be tried.

Authentic restaurant with typical Italian cuisine. I had pizza and it was absolutely delicious, especially the dough. The service was very good👍

Excellent Sunday lunch in this restaurant known through thefork promotion. Friendly and super friendly staff. Tasty dishes and a fairly assorted menu. Prices average for the area. I recommend stewed wild boar with polenta. Wide choice of desserts and

11/04/2025: What can I say about Osteria del Matto? It was a truly wonderful Umbrian culinary experience. The warm welcome from the lady who’s been cooking everything herself for decades made it feel like home. The service was on point, and the quality-to-price ratio couldn’t be better. The highlight of the meal is definitely the pasta, served at the end, rich in flavor and tradition. The house wine was excellent, and the space itself is beautifully chaotic, filled with a mix of unique and quirky details that make it truly special. If being "matto" (that means crazy) means this kind of atmosphere and food, then count me in. I’ll definitely be back!

11/04/2025: Clean rooms, good restaurant, excellent location to visit Assisi, polite and non-invasive service. Everything was fine. We had a good time
08/04/2025: It is located on the opposite side of town of the St. Francis Basilica, but it is only a short walk from the C bus station. The bedroom is spacious and clean. We even had a small terrace. The bathrooms, however, are small. The service was excellent. The restaurant had high quality meals. Just a lovely spot.
