The first courses were good. The service was a shame; we waited an hour to get the menu, and the restaurant had only a few tables occupied.
It doesn't get better than this.
There's no menu. The chef comes to you and talks you through your options. Basically, everything is amazing. I had steak one night and pasta the night after. It's so good. The quality of the food, the wine pairing, all the staff are friendly, attentive and speak English. Amazing! You need a booking. Parking right outside is available. This is the best place. You won't be disappointed!!

Lunch for six people, four adults and two women. Booked by phone at the last minute. The owner was immediately available and friendly. Excellent welcome, kind and knowledgeable staff. You always order from the owner, who serves simple, local, fresh dishes, expertly explained and without a menu. The wait time was commensurate with the preparation. All the courses were amazing, both in terms of taste and aroma. The option to purchase local cured meats and cheeses was also a plus. We had a wonderful time...absolutely recommended.

The Vecchia Osteria alla Pieve restaurant is a great place to enjoy lovingly prepared Friulian food. I go there every year when I visit Illegio for the exhibition of Don Geretti's works, and it's always a pleasure to taste the herb-filled cialzons, local cheeses, and salami, accompanied by excellent red wine. The homemade desserts are also delicious.

Osteria alla mano, semplice ma curata. Titolare e la ragazza super gentili.
Abbiamo preso un antipasto di formaggio della zona con salame: caciotta, formaggio di malga e formaggio stagionato, salame nostrano. Il formaggio era pesato per tre commensali, salame intero che potevamo mangiare anche tutto! Ottime costolette di agnello con peperoni in agrodolce, e mi dicono anche i dolci. prezzo super onesto.
Un salame lo abbiamo acquistato da portare a casa!
