It's a family run restaurant in the middle of tourist rip off Rome! Very relaxing after the Centro Historico stress! Great atmosphere, classic Roman dishes, fabulous wines and super nice service... and that with the children!!!!! 100 points

Great restaurant. We came twice, it was so good. Warm atmosphere, excellent cuisine, very good pastas, starters, excellent main courses, plus a super good tiramisu, homemade by the manager. Very pleasant and quiet setting in a small street away from the crowds near the Pantheon. Everything is perfect. You can't visit Rome without stopping at this fabulous family restaurant.

This is a lovely restaurant both in winter and in summer (I've been there in both seasons). The service is also excellent with friendly efficient and helpful staff. Unfortunately it is let down by the quality of the food. In my most recent visit last week, I had the truffle pasta which cost €25. I love truffles so was really looking forward to it. What came out was very disappointing, with a watery cheese sauce on the pasta that tasted of very little and the shavings of truffle adding no additional flavour. I finished with a tiramisu but it was also fairly average unfortunately. It could be great place if the chef ups their game.

Cozy restaurant in a small alley in Rome. The staf is very friendly an helpful. As a starter I had ham with melon. A for me a weird combination that worked out pretty well. Refreshing an a warm city like Roma. As a main I had the carbonara. Tasted good, maybe a bit too salty. As dessert I tried the vanilla cream with strawberries. Simpel but tastefull. Prices are pretty high for the starters.

Very Italian, very traditional small restaurant that is the reason for dining in Italy in the first place. Skip to modern, expensive restaurants and go here for great food and great atmosphere.

Amazing food with exceptional service!

We got very delicious food. The service was also impeccable. Family business, hidden little restaurant, full of Italians, my favorite concept. Homemade gnocchi pasta is not to be missed! We received very good recommendations. :) Two main courses and two glasses of wine totaled €50 with tip. Totally worth it!

This restaurant was just around the corner from my hotel, so I thought I'd try it. It was a cold and rainy evening, so I sat inside where it was warm and cozy. Nice piano background music came from the downstairs level. The hostess Roberta sat me at a nice little corner table and the waiter Manuel was there promptly. I ordered the spaghetti with clams, a side of grilled veggies and 1/2 bottle of Frascati. Delicious bread came with. With a small bottle of water, the bill was 44 euros which included the 2 euro "cover charge" (coperti). The wait staff were both very kind and attentive and when I asked, translated the name of the restaurant for me. Vecchia means antique or very old and Locanda means an Inn or a place to stop to eat and sleep and refresh yourself when on a long journey. Sweet... I highly recommmend that you stop and refresh yourself at the Ristorante Vecchia Locanda!
