Great food with breathtaking views

It is a great place to enjoy a meal or relax with a cup of coffee while admiring the surrounding scenery. When I visited on June 30th, yellow, pink, purple, and white wildflowers were blooming beautifully around the mountain ridge at an altitude of 2,000 meters. The wildflower fields were much prettier than those at Prato Piazza in the eastern Dolomites.

Everything was exceptional. Even the bill. But the fact that food costs double the average employee's day's pay is no longer news. So everything was perfect. At least we ate very well... But for those who aren't high-spending or from wealthy families, I advise you to avoid looking to the right of the menu. Ad maiora semper

A summer paradise with friends: superb food, a dream cellar, and a special welcome! If you're in Alta Badia with a group of friends and are looking for the perfect place to cap off a wonderful day of hiking, the Ütia de Bioch Refuge is the perfect choice. We stopped for lunch during a trek and were all blown away! The summer location is breathtaking: a sun-drenched terrace with a breathtaking 360-degree view of the Dolomites. The atmosphere among the outdoor tables is lively, cheerful, and incredibly refreshing. The food was a triumph: from traditional Ladin dishes to more gourmet options, each course was a masterpiece of fresh flavors and excellent ingredients. Everyone at the table was thrilled. But the real surprise was the wine cellar: an incredible selection, deep and full of gems that transformed our lunch with friends into a truly high-end tasting experience. Special mention goes to the service, which, despite the refuge being packed, was prompt, super-organized, and consistently friendly. A special thanks goes to the owner, Markus Valentini: a fantastic host, unparalleled in his kindness, hospitality, and professionalism. He shared his passion with us and made us feel like we were visiting old friends. If you want an unforgettable experience, divine food, and a toast in a fairytale setting, this is the place. We can't wait to all come back!

Spectacular location with lounge chairs overlooking the valley and a view of the Marmolada massif. But beyond the Dolomites, which play their part, the place is truly welcoming, clean, beautiful, and the food is excellent. The staff is kind and welcoming. Often, with such a beautiful setting, you settle for less. Not so here! Well done!

After a bit of trekking, a delicious South Tyrolean dish!

The place is always beautiful, with a complete view of Alta Badia and the Marmolada, unique backdrops, and the heart of the Dolomites. Even just a quick stop is worth it. As for the refuge itself: clean, and friendly staff, but the prices are way too high: a small beer costs €4.80 and a fruit yogurt €8.50, truly outrageous.
