A delightful little osteria in the heart of Calitri. The traditional cannazze are amazing, as are the ricotta ravioli, the meat main courses, and the ricotta and pear dessert. Highly recommended.

An old-fashioned osteria. Simple dishes, but full of flavor. Generous portions. I skipped the appetizer to fully enjoy the cannazze and braciola, all washed down with an excellent house red. Friendly staff, average wait times. Definitely a place to return to.

Trattoria TRE ROSE (the coat of arms of the city of Calitri) was founded in the aftermath of the devastating 1980 earthquake by two young men who refused to resign themselves to the idea of ​​emigrating. Today, it has become a culinary hotspot for anyone who loves the simple cuisine of Irpinia's tradition. We arrived at 12:30: they asked for a reservation, which we didn't know was necessary. They immediately set about finding enough space to add a table. The owner and staff are extremely kind and helpful. It doesn't feel like a provincial trattoria, but rather like a family. The portions are generous (whatever you can't eat, they'll prepare for you to take home) and the ingredients are delicious. The prices are incredibly low: an appetizer costs an average of €6, a first course €8, and a side dish €2. A half liter of house wine (Aglianico del Vulture) costs €2, and a bottle of mineral water €1. The specialty is Cannazze, which apparently originated here in Calitri, served with a mixed meat sauce. A wonderful experience to relive!

Non proprio a portata di mano per chi non conosce bene la localita', accoglienza un po troppo seriosa, ma forse parte del carattere del titolare che mi ha accolto, invece ottima accoglienza da parte dei responsabili di sala, nella persona di MIMMO, che ha una calma in sala rassicurante ed mette subito a proprio agio, ed nella persona di GIOSEF, figlio del titolare, molto garbato con un sorriso rassicurante, primo piatto, una specialita' della zona, LE CANNAZZE, sono dei maccheroni ( ZITI ) con una buona salsa ed dell'ottimo pecorino, secondo piatto, una sorta di soffritto di maiale con peperoni sott'aceto, la carne era un burro, lavorata con grande maestria dal personale di cucina, contorno, delle patatine fritte tagliate a mano con l'affetta patate, simili alle patatine che si trovano in commercio, buone, un vinello a bassa gradazione a tutto pasto, ma gradevole, tiramisu' preparato in precenza in un piccolo bicchierino, degli ottimi cantuccini da inzuppare in un buon vino liguoroso, tipo vin santo, passito, malvasia, ecc, caffe' acqua, prezzo 31,00 euro, locale gia avente negli anni passati un riconoscimento da TRIPADVISOR, tirando le somme, un buon pasto, consigli costruttivi, bagni esageratamente stretti, il prezzo del tiramisu' un po superiore ai prezzi della zona, P. S. Quando il conto viene fuori come e venuto il mio, cioe, 31,00 euro, non si chiede, ( se c'e' l'ha' l'euro me lo da, se no non importa, si arrotonda direttamente il prezzo a 30,00 euro, ed. nemmeno quando io ho risposto non c'e' l'ho' l'euro ed gli ho presentato 35 euro, nemmeno allora mi e stato detto non importa, mi dia solo 30,00 euro, ma mi anno dato i 4 euro di resto )

Each dish tells a story: carefully selected ingredients, refined techniques, and a balance of flavors that fully reflect Vincenzo's personality and vision. His touch and his desire to create an authentic gastronomic journey that showcases local products without ever being predictable are immediately evident. The service, led by an impeccable maître d', made the experience even more complete: each course was introduced with passion and expertise, adding that narrative touch that transforms a dinner into a journey. The ambience is meticulously crafted: elegant yet welcoming, with background music that accompanies without being intrusive. 08/07/2025: Beautiful setting overlooking the Sala square. Marco, the owner, is incredibly kind and humble. The sauces, including cheddar, are good quality compared to the usual industrial cheese. Good-quality meat and artisanal-cut potatoes in a sandwich with a delicious caciocavallo cheese. The prices are truly modest for the quality offered. In short, the best for a quiet evening in the village. My girlfriend and I will be back! 🖤
