A restaurant stuck in the 1960s or perhaps 1950s.
The menu features very few dishes, with frog specialties taking center stage.
Everything we ordered was delicious.

Home-made tortelloni with butter and sage.
Fried frogs and cacciatore style.
Special mention also for the potatoes and sautéed chicory.
Spectacular fior di latte.
Quick and friendly service.
The price wasn't the cheapest, but given the quality of what we ate, it was more than fair.

At this trattoria in our hometown of Baricella, we found an exceptional atmosphere and welcome, especially from the owner, who prioritizes customer service. We ate tagliatelle with prosciutto and frogs cacciatore, both delicious.
These establishments, run like this, make all the difference.

Dinner with friends; we had the frogs and fried fish, and tagliatelle with ham for a starter. Everything was delicious. The rice cake was amazing. Highly recommended.

Trattoria in the center of Baricella, a tidy town on the plains between Bologna and Ferrara. It's a typical trattoria/restaurant in the area, well-maintained, especially considering the price range (which is always worth considering). It's one of those places where reservations are always recommended, and it seems to be very popular with locals, too. The local specialty is frogs. If you don't like them, just don't order them. The first course selection is limited, but the menu features four staples of Bolognese cuisine: tagliatelle, tortelloni, tortellini in broth, and passatelli in broth. There's also frog risotto. The second course selection is a bit more generous, both fish and meat. Octopus with potatoes (which we ordered) was not available on the menu, along with other dishes. There are only three desserts, but they're all top-notch. Generous portions. Prices are very reasonable. Service is fast, friendly, attentive, and helpful. Truly delicious tortelloni, excellent octopus with potatoes, delicious and generous cooked vegetables (for €4), and a huge portion of fiordilatte (a delicious kind of pudding)—many other places would have made at least three portions with that amount. Excellent value for money.
