Trattoria Trapani In Palermo

I'm in Palermo for a month. I stopped in one night and had the best spaghetti bolognese I ever had in my life, along with the most amazing strawberry cheesecake (Better than NY cheesecake). In fact, when I paid my bill, I asked the young woman to add two more pieces of cheesecake to my bill to give to other people who were dining. I enjoyed my leftovers when they packed them up for me to enjoy the next day. I've been looking forward to going back ever since that day. Today is my last day and decided to go get the bolognese and cheesecake to take away and bring back to my apartment as I had studying to do. I waited outside until they opened, went in, told them what I wanted and that I would like to "take away". They refused. They told me I had to eat in the restaurant. I asked if I sat and ate some, if they would allow me to take my leftovers, they refused. I was shocked and really sad. I walked a couple minutes away and got my lunch/dinner to take away from another restaurant. This place would have gotten 5 stars across the board. Too bad for them...passed up money/business today and future business when people would have read my review. Now, maybe people won't go to their restaurant because of my experience. All the young people were so pleasant, worked hard and gave me an excellent dining experience. The other people that were there today ruined it. Wishing the young people success in whatever they do in life.

Small restaurant a stone's throw from the station. Family run, very courteous, genuine ingredients, very low prices. Complimentary house-made panelline, excellent pasta with sardines. Silence, beautiful, slightly ancient sensations...

We were delighted with the food, the staff, and their service. Anyone visiting Palermo should definitely stop by Trattoria Trapani. All of their dishes are delicious, especially the spaghetti with artichokes!

The place is welcoming, home-made, easy-going and the staff is friendly. We were a group of 8 friends and we ordered a fish first course (fettuccine with shrimp, pasta with squid ink, with artichokes, with swordfish) they were excellent and the dishes were super generous. For the second course, some took the paper, some the calamari, some the prawns (5 huge prawns... super) with a side dish of potatoes and salad. Followed by 4 portions of panelle, two offered by the house, two to pay...then 4 pieces of homemade cheesecake, three bitters and a limoncello... Water and wine...a hearty dinner, but light and digestible, because it was cooked well, with genuine ingredients, especially oil. We made a single bill and then divided it by 8.... You wouldn't believe it, 26 euros per person... not even a pizza with beer costs that little. Negative points: ...the timing... the side dish arrived and then the second course... We wanted grappa and they don't offer it... But the most serious thing is that we can't return 😂 because they are closed tomorrow evening... what a shame, it was really worth returning 🎉. Excellent restaurant, good food and great service!

The service was unbeatable, as were the prices. Unfortunately it was a little stuffy due to the lack of windows and the pasta was NOT homemade. But if that doesn't bother you, it really is a solid choice for dinner or lunch. Here you have typical Sicilian sauces that taste really good, very friendly staff and delicious bread. The staff really take their time with you and we were amazed at how detailed each dish was explained to us in English and how charming the two young men were.

A warm, friendly welcome and generous, gourmet, and delicious cuisine. One of the best value-for-money deals we've found in Palermo, and even in Sicily.

Service very nice and delicious pasta

Abbiamo pranzato in questa trattoria e siamo rimasti soddisfatti. Il locale è semplice ma molto accogliente, con un’atmosfera familiare che mette subito a proprio agio. Il servizio è un po’ lungo, ma ne vale la pena: ogni piatto è preparato al momento con ingredienti freschi e si sente la cura nella cucina. Va detto che è una trattoria, non un ristorante, quindi non bisogna aspettarsi un menu con tanti piatti tra cui scegliere, ma quello che c’è è fatto bene e con passione. Se non avete fretta e cercate un pasto semplice ma autentico, questo è il posto giusto!
