I dined at this trattoria in August with my family. It's located next to the Ludovico Ariosto Theater, and as soon as you enter, you breathe in the air reminiscent of history and tradition. This same tradition is reflected in the dishes, including strictly handmade pasta and tortelli, and the time-honored flavors of Reggio Emilia's finest culinary specialties, expertly explained by the owner, whose words clearly convey his love and passion for his work. The platter of cured meats, parmesan, and fried gnocco are excellent. The tortelli dish is highly recommended, all accompanied by a fantastic house Lambrusco, and to finish, the zuppa inglese (trifle) and a herb liqueur unlike anything you've found anywhere else. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Reggio Emilia, a truly beautiful city, both for its churches and historic buildings, and for the relaxed atmosphere it exudes.

Entering Il Sipario is a bit like opening an old family trunk: the smell of time immediately envelops you, the furnishings tell decades of stories, and that old-time counter is there to remind you that modernity has knocked here... but with respect.
The lady who welcomed us was of a rare kindness, discreet but attentive, as is customary in true trattorias of the past.
We started with the selection of Parmigiano, which - as always - leaves us in respectful silence: here it is sacred. The fried gnocco? One of the best ever tried: crunchy, light, perfectly balanced. The quality cold cuts, tasty but not invasive.
The twist? Cappelletti in Parmigiano cream that made us suspend all conversation: delicious enough to move us.
In short, Il Sipario is a place that smells of memory, but that surprises you on the plate as if it were the first time. And yes, we will gladly return.

Trattoria storica a fianco del teatro. Atmosfera retro con personale gentilissimo. Tagliere di salumi e parmigiano con gnocco fritto ai limiti della perfezione. Gnocco fritto croccante e asciutto. Cappelletti in brodo di cappone paradisiaci e la selezione di tortelli è sublime. Qualità straordinaria e prezzo nella norma considerato le portate abbondanti e gustose

Il locale è accanto al teatro. Molto alla mano ma il cibo è buonissimo. Abbiamo preso antipasti misti e gnocco fritto, tutto eccellente. I secondi buoni e il costo in linea con quanto ordinato
