Few dishes but genuine and homemade. The menu always changes and every time it is a pleasant surprise. We have always had a great time thanks also to Duccio, a Tuscan host who has now become a friend.

We were two biker friends, who after an adrenaline rush between curves and breathtaking views of the Raticosa, Futa, Giogo passes, were looking for a simple, authentic, typical, but above all quiet place and off the beaten tourist track, or the classic sandwich on the fly. Well, after a search on the web, we went to this very secluded tavern, and the legendary host Duccio welcomed us while we were still in the saddle. It was love at first sight: a rustic stone place, a few tables under a vine-covered pergola where you can shelter from the sun. Duccio is the number one of the hosts: before even taking the orders he sits at the table with us and toasts with a glass in his hand. Extremely genuine, simple cuisine and off the clichés of the Tuscan stereotype. They offer what is available according to the season, and don't expect Florentine steaks four fingers thick aged for a thousand months... In conclusion, what was supposed to be a relatively quick lunch break, turned into a real snack. We interacted with other customers and with Duccio acting as a glue we stayed for three hours. Fantastic!

A wonderful surprise to eat in this place that smells like an old tavern with the innkeeper, the legendary Duccio, who serves you with a glass in hand always ready to toast with you. Excellent red wine, excellent food which changes every week according to the season and excellent quality/price ratio. We had a great time and moreover we danced together with the Cantamaggio on May 1st who cheered us up with their traditional popular songs. Truly an unforgettable day! Thanks Duccio!

Non pensate di esservi persi in mezzo al nulla …eccovi la sorpresa, ben arrivati da Santi Santina…che dire Duccio, ristoratore, intrattenitore, dj, ballerino, insomma un tutt’uno…persona straordinaria che ha la capacità di farti assaporare tutta la sua eccellente cucina accompagnata da un sorriso garantito.

You may think you missed the place in this remote area of the mountains near Firenzuola when driving to it but just look for the plywood with the faded sign (I mean this with respect and it adds to the experience), you won’t regret it. The limited menu means that they put their heart and soul into the food you will eat. I visited 6 different hilltop tourist destinations as well as Florence and Bologna, yet this was the highlight of my trip when it comes to amazing food. He and his family’s warmth and amazing food are unforgettable. Let the owner Duccio, which by the way is like that favorite relative that makes everything awesome, be the one to feed you the food and portion sizes he feels you should have if you have no allergies and love all foods. You’ll remember this post!
