Trattoria San Gennaro In Praiano

Alright, so I stroll up to this little spot perched above the Amalfi Coast—view looks like it was painted by Michelangelo’s cousin who was really into carbs. You can smell the pizza before you see it. That’s always a good sign. They bring it out—thin crust, perfectly blistered, looks like it spent just the right amount of time in the oven. Not too doughy, not too cracker-y. I take the first bite—boom. Immediate flavor punch. The sauce has that fresh, slightly sweet San Marzano thing going on. Cheese ratio? Money. Crust has the right amount of char. You know when you hit that perfect chew? Yeah, it’s that. No floppy nonsense, no soggy middle. Just a proper Neapolitan-style pie executed by someone who clearly knows what they’re doing. I’m sitting here overlooking the Mediterranean eating one of the best pizzas I’ve had in Italy, and I’ve eaten a lot of pizza. Score? We’re talking strong numbers. I’m giving it a 9.1—elite pie, certified Amalfi Coast heater. One bite, everybody knows the rules.

While staying at Pepe's, I visited a family-run restaurant. They even provided free car pickup from the hotel, and the family was so warm and welcoming. 🥹 I had the arabiata and the traditional Amalfi seafood pasta with thick noodles. It was delicious and the portions were huge!! The price was reasonable, but the portions were generous. The seafood pasta sauce was especially delicious. The noodles had a texture and flavor I'd never experienced before, so it was a new experience~ They gave me a welcome drink as soon as I arrived, and after the meal, they gave me a small cup of tiramisu, chocolate cream, and a limoncello shot for dessert. 😭😭 I was so happy to have finished a perfect meal!! The night view from the outdoor terrace was especially beautiful. I wanted to visit again on my last day, but it was too late, so I couldn't. I'll definitely visit again next time I'm in Italy!! 🩵

I would highly recommend this restaurant. Best I’ve been to whilst here. Very cute, family owned restaurant, food was delicious, service was amazing. Free limoncello shots the topped it off. The price was also so reasonable for the quality of food and generous portions. I will be back. 10/10 could not speak higher off this place and the staff

To us, this was the prettiest restaurant in Praiano (and beautiful restaurants are everywhere). They also served the greatest pizza we’ve ever had.

Terrace overlooking the sea, we ate scialatielli with courgettes and prawns, gnocchi alla sorrentina, fried anchovies and lemon dessert: everything was excellent, the staff very attentive.
