such a hidden gem! we came by it at night when the nearby restaurants were full or closing. its a cute mom n pops vibe but with very food venitian classic dishes. the vibe inside is cozy too. the menu isnt extensive but we had the fresh fish and spaghetti which was awesome!

Piacevole trattoria in non prettamante rivolta ai turisti. Piatti di pesce (e anche di carne) della tipica cucina veneziana. Servizio accogliente e super cortese: sembra di essere amici di famiglia appena entri. Mangiato bene. Il prezzo sicuramente può sembrare alto se dimentichi di essere a Venezia (anche se fuori dai circuti ultra turistici) ma il fatto che comunque mangi bene ed in un ambiente rilassato ed amichevole ti fa dimenticare il conto forse un po' sapido. Coperto per tre persone, acqua, un antipasto di pesce, due piatti di spaghetti alla marinara ed uno di spaghetti al pomodoro più una bottiglia di vino bianco: 82 euro. Comunque, se in zona, ci ritorneri perchè a Venezia si sa che spendere moltissimo mangiando male è un attimo. Qui si mangia e si sta bene anche se si paga un po' di Venezia...

The restaurant was recommended to us. And rightly so. Modest interior design, which also adds to the charm. In summer with outdoor seating right by the water. The menu is clearly laid out on one page. Lots of fish. Please note that the daily price is charged for two fish dishes. This is also clearly indicated on the menu. Very attentive and friendly staff. The only downside: no dessert, but you can overlook that. The Trattoria San Basilio is a recommendation and we will gladly return.

It's hard to believe that something like this still exists in the middle of Venice: a really original trattoria, without any kitsch, comfortably furnished, incredibly friendly staff, excellent food and very good prices. My spaghetti marinara was excellent, as was the starter. There is also fresh fish which I will try next time. So definitely recommended! Obviously a family business that I wish will have a long, successful existence!

Small trattoria that doesn't look like much but is excellent with very attentive service. I recommend ! If you come at sunset you will be served and will have a magnificent view.

Great food and great service... even a historical explanation of the Venetian spritz.
