This is a place where you can enjoy a meal away from the tourist crowds, feeling just like a local. The staff are very polite; I discovered it at the last minute. The building dates back to the 14th century, and you can really feel that atmosphere inside the restaurant.

This restaurant was our best experience at Firenze. Exceptional food with a great wine list. Very professional team. Domenico is a passionate owner that loves what he does. Strongly advise.

We went for lunch, the staff were very friendly and adapted well to our limited Italian. English was fine too. The food was very good, with quality ingredients, and the value for money was excellent. It's a great option if you want something different from the tourist menus.

The food was amazing. Honestly everything here was great and the owner is clearly extremely passionate about his restaurant and more importantly his kitchen. The steaks were excellent, as were the sides especially the roasted potatoes. The lobster pasta special we got for the table was perfectly cooked and delicious. Food was so good we decided to try to get dessert and we were very happy we did. We tried the cheesecake, panacotta, and tiramisu as a table and shared and each one was spectacular. Really wonderful food, especially for the prices, can't recommend enough.

Excellent service, friendly staff with explanations of the dishes. Good house wine. Of the two dishes we ate: the mushroom and truffle pasta was very tasty. The shrimp with zucchini cream was good, but we felt it lacked a little more flavor. Overall, it was a good experience.

First night in Florence and what a gem of a restaurant. Fantastic friendly service, really helpful staff and the food was amazing - would recommend the florentine t bone steak. Would also recommend the bruschetta and the Chianti Classico red wine (thank you to the staff for the wine recommendation) to go with the steak.Enjoyed the food so much we decided to have pudding, and we never have pudding! Tiramisu was very good. Whole meal was worth every penny and we had a lot!

Super traditional trattoria. We ate there three times during our stay, and all the dishes we tried were good and reasonably priced. If you're looking for an excellent Florentine steak, I highly recommend it; it was our favorite dish. The wine was also very good and recommended by a sommelier.

15/06/2026: Breathtaking. The pici cacio e pepe are delicious, as are the pappardelle with ragù. The real highlight is obviously the steak, 10 out of 10, it melts in your mouth... and Giacinto is a superstar. It will become a must-try every time we return to Florence.
15/06/2026: Ristorante Cicalone is always our FIRST reservation that we book upon arriving to Firenze! We visit Florence every year and eat here multiple times during our stay because it's just that good. The staff is engaging and friendly and the food is always served quickly. The atmosphere is fun and festive. Everything from the antipasti to the many pasta dishes, the Ossubucco, Red Wine and Black Pepper Beef Stew, or Florentine Steak is mouthwatering and fresh. The chef is incredibly talented and also a fantastic baker so save room for dessert! This year we celebrated my mother's 90th birthday at Cicalone and the always hospitable, inviting staff pulled out all the stops to make certain everything was perfect. The tiramisu was even presented with a birthday candle, while the staff sang and clapped. Oh, and the new wine door? You must try the Hugo Spritz!

22/05/2026: Wow - this the best dinner we have had so far in Italy. I had the lasagna which was very delicious, however, my wife had the Gnocchi and it’s the best gnocchi i have ever had. The staff is also very helpful and attentive. I recommend getting a reservation because it can get full. Highly recommend!!
