Trattoria Monferrato In Ivrea

I dined with my wife at the Monferrato restaurant in the heart of Ivrea's historic center, and the experience was simply excellent. The restaurant has a unique charm: the interiors were created from a historic stable at Ivrea Castle, transformed into a restaurant over 50 years ago. The atmosphere is warm, authentic, and rich in history. The current management, active since the mid-1990s, manages to keep this tradition alive, with great attention to both quality and hospitality. We were particularly impressed by the fixed-price tasting menu, which was extremely comprehensive and well-structured: four appetizers, a first course, a second course, dessert, coffee, water, and house wine included. A truly generous offering, allowing you to take a true journey through Piedmontese cuisine. The dishes, as you can see from the photos, are carefully prepared, balanced, and made with quality ingredients. The cuisine successfully combines tradition and refinement, with results that closely resemble those of a gourmet restaurant. The presentation is also excellent. One detail that deserves special mention is the bread: artisanal breadsticks, crunchy and flavorful, accompanied by a truly unique and delightful sweet bread with raisins and figs. As soon as we finished the first basket, the service was prompt in refilling our baskets, a sign of attention and care towards the customer. The service was fast, precise, and friendly. The owner was very helpful and passionate, even showing us an interesting photo book dedicated to the famous Ivrea Carnival and the historic Battle of the Oranges. The walls of the restaurant are adorned with historic photographs of this tradition and images of famous people who have passed through the restaurant over the years, further enhancing the experience. In conclusion, a restaurant that impeccably combines history, quality, and hospitality. Highly recommended for those visiting Ivrea and seeking a truly local gastronomic experience.

We were unfortunately quite disappointed with this place, both because of the rather indifferent service (it felt like we were a burden), and above all because the dishes had a nice concept behind them, but were questionable in execution; especially considering the high prices for what they offer. For example, the Fassona steak was actually veal and lacked flavor. A real shame.

A very quaint little restaurant in the center of Ivrea. As soon as you enter, you feel like you've stepped back in time. Various photos of the Carnival tradition hang on the wall. The cuisine is traditional, with a modest menu that includes all the traditional dishes. The appetizers and carbonade are very good. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the service is prompt. In my experience, the quality/price ratio is very good!

The pleasure of being right in the center! Attention, friendliness, quality. The tasting menu is not to be missed; be warned, the portions are generous. Wide selection of local wines. We'll be back, possibly very soon, on our next trip to Ivrea.
