We had lunch on Sunday in this ancient Bolognese trattoria, at the foot of the walk towards the Sanctuary of San Luca. The restaurant therefore has a notable positioning and the environment is suggestive, typical of ancient trattorias. Precisely for this reason I allow myself to give 2 passionate suggestions that would make the place much more appreciated: 1) put a double door: perhaps you give up a couple of tables and introduce a modernity but you avoid letting the cold in 2) 5 euros 2 coffees is perhaps excessive: I would suggest lowering the prices because we are still in a trattoria.
For the rest, nice atmosphere, excellent dessert, trifle, and very good first course, tagliatella with meat sauce.
Love this restaurant and am planning my 3rd visit this spring - on checking the reviews I was shocked to see a 1* review 'how could that be' I thought. Then reading it I see that the poster apparently thought she was in a coffee shop and gave them 1* because they are not a coffee shop. Talk about entitled!! I will be back and I hope with another 5* review in the near future.

Typical restaurant with traditional Bolognese dishes right next to the Meloncello gate, the starting point for reaching the Sanctuary of the Beata Vergine di San Luca on foot.
The dishes chosen were gramigna with sausage ragù, ricotta tortelloni with butter and sage, meatballs with peas, pork loin with a side of friggione; finally, for dessert, crem caramel or fiordilatte (as it is called in Bologna)
The service is quite fast, the staff is friendly. The cafe is always full. Excellent value for money

Ci siamo fermati in questa trattoria al rientro dal percorso del santuario di San Luca. Abbiamo trovato posto per pura fortuna. L’ambiente é molto semplice e tradizionale così come la cucina. Ottimo per chi vuole provare dei piatti tipici bolognesi di ottima qualità.

I wanted to eat bolognese in Bologna, so I decided to go to Bologna. I tried a lot of things, but tagliatelle al rágu was my favorite. Above all, I was captivated by the friggione sauce on the side menu. I ordered it as an extra, but it had a strong sour taste. This tomato and onion sauce was actually the most delicious.

We went to the 2nd round, had the tagliatelle and gnocchi with meat sauce, very good, the meat sauce was excellent! The second course is ossobuco with peas and potatoes, like grandma's!! But the thing that leaves you speechless is the amaretto dessert!!! You would never stop eating it and it's not as sweet as you might imagine!! Something divine!!! Friendly and helpful staff, very knowledgeable guys! Compliments

Torno al Meloncello dopo parecchio tempo, dopo un martedì sera di Coppa Italia.
E lo trovo piuttosto in forma, ancora con una gran tagliatella al ragu (ottimo).
Una delle tagliatelle migliori di Bologna, oserei dire.
Molto buono anche il servizio, da parte di due ragazze molto cordiali ed efficienti.
