A classic trattoria in Bologna — exactly the kind of iconic restaurant this beautiful city is known for. Everything is delicious: traditional regional dishes, excellent pasta, and great starters. The only thing I’d skip here is the tiramisu — I’d recommend trying it somewhere else. Otherwise, definitely a place worth adding to your list.

A pleasant surprise. Trattoria Leonida exceeded expectations. Impeccable service (perhaps a better knowledge of English wouldn't hurt); excellent traditional food (even though the menu offers many dishes, you just need to choose carefully); and the bill was truly "fair." I recommend it to anyone visiting Bologna for vacation or business.

Recommended by a local. The food was okay, and the advice about the menu was also fine. What wasn't good was that we felt rushed. We hadn't even finished our appetizer when the main course arrived and was placed next to us. Plates from the main course were cleared away even though someone at the table was still eating. Very unpleasant and not at all comfortable when you actually want to enjoy a relaxing evening meal.

Passing through Bologna and not eating at Leonida is like missing out on a visit to Bologna. This classic family-run restaurant (a father and son team) offers excellent Romagna cuisine. The appetizers of cured meats and cheeses are not to be missed, as are the tortellini prepared in every way. Go, eat, and feel at home.

I don't know why this restaurant has such low reviews—I think it's excellent. It was recommended to us by the owner of the apartment we rented. The service is some of the best I've encountered in Italy—very friendly, helpful, and they treat guests like family. The food is excellent: both the appetizers and main courses are truly delicious. The prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is typically Italian, authentic. The restaurant owner also personally served guests. There wasn't a single empty table in the restaurant, which speaks for itself.

Excellent food, as was the service. The tortellini with parmesan cream were incredible, as was the tagliata. From the cheeses to the desserts, 10 out of 10. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. The waiters are very kind and attentive.

20/03/2026: A place to return to! An atmosphere unlike any I've seen in Bologna! The prices aren't high.
09/02/2026: Great atmosphere, people of all ages, good music, some nights karaoke, it's always packed and doesn't disappoint. The problem is that they serve drinks in plastic cups even if you drink them inside.
