If you want to try the best carbonara with cream, this is the place!
Reasonable prices and a simple atmosphere, although with the place empty, they made us get up to change tables.
As often happens in tourist spots in the historic center, they sell you "mayor's water" (i.e., tap water) for the modest sum of €3 a liter plus the usual €2 cover charge (prohibited by Article 16 of Regional Law No. 21 of November 29, 2006).
PS: Almost all local restaurateurs, to circumvent the regional law, mistakenly define "service" as what is actually the "cover charge," but in this case, the price list displayed outside doesn't even mention this additional charge!

It looks like a place mostly for tourists but it makes great Roman staples. I loved their osso buco e trippa alla romana. Will keep going back!

We entered right after opening time without reservation. While drinking our aperos, the restaurant quickly filled up, and rightfully so. There is so much good food to enjoy here. It really feels like a traditional Roman family-owned restaurant. The waiters were almost harmoniously 'dancing' to be able to serve everyone as efficiently as possible. We had a great time.

A place with history, great service, and exquisite food.
The ossobuco alla romana with cremolata sauce (€18) paired with a bottle of Chianti red wine (€20). And I'm eager to try their award-winning desserts.

Glad to find this place. The food was really good, but didn't understand why the waiters are kind of rude and not attentive. When we went today around 14pm, we didn't like the service. They are very inexperienced and non Italian one was rude. The service was fast, but they are just not good waiters.
If I were the owner, I would definitely hire better waiters or train the waiters to make sure the service matched with the quality of the food and the history.

I wish I could leave 10 stars.
Service was top notch. The owner was super friendly. Food was absolutely amazing, best food that I had in Rome. They were busy but they accomodated us without a booking. I highly recommend this place. Prices are fair. Thank you heaps.
