We walked in at 1900 and got a table… no waiting and no reservations. We are not locals but treated us like family. Just amazing time and great food. Highly recommend it. Wish we could go back and try something else. I love small menus!

Excellent food, generous portions, and overall a real local feel, where locals come for lunch/dinner and even to pick up takeout. We loved it. We think it's an ideal place to try the Florentine steak in terms of value for money. You can eat in 20 minutes!

Such a wonderful experience that I discovered this place by chance for lunch and returned enthusiastically for dinner the same day: authentic food and truly flavorful dishes, with friendly and fast service. We've always had different courses, all excellent! As a fan of zuppa inglese, the dessert is highly recommended!

I have been frequenting this fantastic restaurant for over 20 years, everything is good, from the pork loin to the soups, the ribollita, etc., the desserts are excellent, a special thanks to Francesco Fabio and their collaborators for the welcome received, the professionalism and the friendship that has been there for many years.

Found by chance, this is a truly authentic Florentine tavern, the kind that's becoming increasingly rare. Good food at a good price, and a great atmosphere. Just a heads-up: the bathroom is outside the restaurant.

02/06/2026: THE best food in Florence! We have been dining at Il Barroccio for many years and the food is consitently fantastic. Fresh quality ingredients make all the difference. Gianni is a genius and a warm and unique character who genuinely cares about his work. A comfortable and unfussy little place with simple decor one a quiet street just alongside the Bargello. Go find it, you will be so happy.
01/06/2026: We had such a memorable experience at Il Barroccio. It’s a small, charming spot on a quiet street just off the center of Florence, and it honestly felt like we had stepped into a tiny Italian village. We sat outside and ended up talking with the owner/chef for quite a while—he speaks good English and is incredibly passionate about food and wine. He guided us through what to order and paired everything perfectly. What stood out most was how strongly he feels about food pairings—he even explained why you shouldn’t mix beef and fish because of how it affects the palate. It was fascinating and made the whole meal feel like an experience, not just dinner. The food, wine, and conversation were all delightful. If you’re looking for something authentic and personal rather than touristy, this is the place.

05/05/2026: Stop by! The traditional menu and top-quality ingredients are worth more than a taste! The meat, of course, never disappoints, but the other dishes are equally impressive, especially the black truffle. Excellent value! We'll be back!
29/04/2026: The quality is there, and the prices are fair. Excellent place. I recommend it. I went to eat with a friend of mine who's a former chef, and he was very satisfied. I highly recommend it.
