Trattoria l'Angolo da Cesare e Mara In Montalcino

We spent 12 days in the Val d'Orcia area. We went to all kinds of restaurants: L'Angolo was the only one we went back to. With excellent value for money, it's a place that's popular with locals as well as tourists. We were treated wonderfully the first time, and even better the second time when we returned. Absolutely recommendable; you can even afford a 2018 Brunello at a reasonable price.

We probably expected a little more, the cut was good but certainly not special, side dishes were so-so, service was just adequate

Very friendly owner, good food, excellent value for money. I recommend it for those like us who were visiting Montalcino. Located near the Fortress.

The restaurant is small and charming. The service was great and we managed to get a table for 5 people. The food was really good, from the starter (pecorino gratinate) to the dessert (crème fraîche, cheesecake, biscuits and liqueur). The dishes were delicious (the ravioli with truffle was perfect). I recommend it!

I ordered a wonderful truncheon, very economical in relation to the taste and quality, 14 euros. It was the only restaurant open around 2pm on 12/29. We had a Rosso di Montalcino with it! We were well served but there was only seating outside the restaurant, but that didn't affect us at all. I highly recommend it!!!

A simple place, the 5 stars are because this is exactly what we were looking for. For the third time in Montalcino, and for the third time in this small and simple place, where you find yourself chatting with the owner and other people. No demands on the furniture and image. After all, a real trattoria must be like this. Excellent cut, extraordinary wine. We will definitely come back again. You can breathe in all the best of Tuscan hospitality. Lilly and Stefano

Excellent restaurant in Montalcino. Best steak in Italy. Well worth it.

Paseábamos buscando una cena ligera, tres de nosotros. Estaba pensando en pasta simple pero absolutamente una copa de Brunello di Montalcino. El cónyuge pidió pollo asado, que no hemos estado viendo en los menús; el cuñado consigue pasta simple con pomodoro (tomate) , yo pido pasta de papperdelle con jabalí Ragu, que parece ser una especialidad de esta zona. Todos fueron muy buenos. Por casualidad había pedido el mismo plato en el almuerzo de hoy en otro lugar de la ciudad, que era más sabroso, pero esta versión era buena. El Brunello era bastante bueno. El servicio parecía tenso. Cuando entramos, vi una exhibición de vinos junto a la copa justo cuando uno entra. Vi una botella que parecía interesante y la cogí suavemente. Un servidor bajó sobre mí inmediatamente y me preguntó si podía ayudar. “No, nos estamos sentando y quería ver esta botella de vino”, respondí. “Quizás sea preferible preguntar primero”, dijo. Ok, no hay problema. Pero si no quieres que los clientes vean tus vinos, ¿por qué colocarlos donde todos los encuentren? No hay daño ni falta, seguimos adelante. Luego tardó un poco en atendernos ese mismo servidor, otro servidor inmediatamente nos trajo pan y agua embotellada. Así que quizás no sigamos adelante. El resto de la noche cada interacción con el servidor #1 tuvo un tinte de estrés. Comimos, disfrutamos, pagamos y nos fuimos. Todavía doy una calificación de 4 porque la comida era buena.

È sempre un piacere venire a mangiare in questa trattoria. Personale attento, gentile, e molto cordiale. Adoro il tartufo e da loro è sempre una garanzia, non c’e l’accenno, ma è veramente generosa la dose. Lo consiglio vivamente, buon rapporto qualità prezzo!!
