After a walking tour with a local guide we went to eat at this place at his suggestion and had a good time. From the outside it doesn't seem like La Canonica is not very different from the many tourist traps in the historic center of Catania, but in reality it turned out to be a place with a very familiar atmosphere. The interior is full of objects and ornaments, to the point that it is difficult to see the walls, but the place is clean and the cuisine (in the most rigorous Sicilian tradition) is of an excellent standard. It was a bit like when you go to eat at your grandmother's house, typical and simple dishes, but always excellent, served in a very quiet and relaxed environment. All in all a nice experience.

The place is really beautiful with mix and match decor and warm lighting. The food was good without anything special. We loved the marinated cod and the shrimp and zucchini pasta. His portions are not too big. Had good prices on wines. Overall it's a good, quiet restaurant.

I ate the most delicious pasta here! The one with shrimps and zucchini! The interior of the restaurant is extraordinary and the location is perfect- right in the centre but away from the crowds.

21/07/2024: ristorante veramente ben fornito di varie specialità, pesce buonissimo, lo consiglio per una cena in famiglia, amici o qualsiasi tipo di compagnia, oltretutto, i ragazzi sono veramente bravi, simpatici, attenti e molto gentili. ambiente sicuramente bellissimo con una vista sul mare spettacolare. consigliatissimo da parte mia.
