Trattoria Il Mare In Catania

Very good food, great service, small family restaurant, generous dishes and good value for money. The only downside is the presentation of the place needs to be improved (server attire and table/chairs). Otherwise, if you're in Catania, go there!

We discovered this restaurant by chance, and it was a wonderful find! A warm welcome and the food is delicious! I highly recommend TRATORIA ILMARE.

Nice restaurant inside, not too noisy outside (noise from cars and scooters). There's a lot of choice, which leaves you wondering about the quality of the food. Quite disappointed with the "primo piatto" of swordfish pasta. Very few toppings and almost no fresh pesto flavor. The overall price is rather high for average prices in Catania, with a plate of food costing €4 and a bottle of water charged unsolicited. Very friendly service and clean restrooms.

It's worth it. Excellent food, very fresh fish, swordfish with tomato sauce, swordfish with shrimp, calamari, tiramisu, and profiteroles with Moscato wine. Truly delicious. 👌😍

A small, simple restaurant specializing in fish. The ordering system is via smartphone or the waiter. The large selection is confusing on a smartphone. The food, however, is divine. Very good value for money. My wish: to be a bit more relaxed, switch to a regular menu, and everything will be wonderful.

It was good,not the way I expected tbh

Sweet service and just the best food! Their shrimp pasta with pistachios is the absolute best! We got some free appetizers (bruschettas with grilled veggies) and it was so good too. Highly recommend.

Locale semplice ed accogliente, nel centro cittadino. Atmosfera casalinga, servizio gentile. Il personale tende, almeno nel mio caso, a indirizzare con una certa pressione verso piatti ‘consigliati’. Mi lascio orientare e così provo per antipasto un piatto di telline, gustose, con un vivo sapore di mare, forse per i miei gusti un po’ salate. Prima però mi arrivano delle bruschette, offerte dalla Casa. A seguire scelgo una spigola di non grandi dimensioni. Difficile dire se sia stata d’allevamento o pescata in ogni caso il sapore era buono, anche se servita con abbondante sugo di pomodoro (strano per una spigola, che mi sarei aspettato alla griglia). I prezzi una incognita, visto che non mi era stato portato un menu e il conto non era dettagliato. Pago in contanti (il bancomat non c’era o non era disponibile quella sera) poco più di 25 euro. Che dire? Mi è sembrato buono e piacevole ma non mi ha convinto del tutto. Ci dovrei tornare per una valutazione più ‘sicura’.

Ci sono ristoranti che hanno qualcosa di speciale…la trattoria il mare magistralmente gestista da Fabio è un esempio più unico che raro…qualità, prodotti tipici, ingredienti del territorio, il tutto portato in tavola in modo perfetto ed unico….se vuoi assaporare la Sicilia sei nel posto giusto al momento giusto…consigliatissimo provatelo non ve ne pentirete…provate la trattoria di Fabbbio con 3 B come lo chiama la cameriera Elisa, che con la sua simpatia da quel tocco in più ad una trattoria che merita tanto…molto di più…!!!
