Trattoria Gatto Nero is an authentic retreat in the heart of Pietrasanta. The location is beautiful, but the food is even more spectacular. The real star is the quality of the ingredients, crafted with respect for tradition. Both the ravioli and tordelli are exceptional. You can taste the fresh, handmade pasta. The meat and fish ragù are flavorful and enveloping, a must-try! The tagliata is the dish that stole my heart, perfectly cooked, pink, tender, and flavorful. A meat-based main course that alone is worth the trip, accompanied by crispy and delicious roast potatoes. For seafood lovers, their fritto misto is a surprise, highly recommended. Overall, if you're looking for the authentic flavors of Tuscany and a lunch or dinner that will leave you completely satisfied, Gatto Nero is the place to be.

The intimate atmosphere typical of a two-level trattoria features a menu featuring both meat and fish, simple but authentic cuisine, average portions, welcoming and informal service, and slightly high prices for what's on offer.

Gatto Nero Trattoria is a warm and welcoming restaurant. The staff is very friendly and the menu is varied. I recommend the excellent fried fish and the spaghetti allo scoglio, a must! If you want a relaxing moment in a family atmosphere, this is the place for you.

An original experience with a medieval-themed lunch, meticulously crafted and meticulously detailed. The dishes evoke ancient traditions, with authentic flavors and expertly executed. The service was courteous, if at times a bit slow. The setting is quaint, but comfort and overall atmosphere could be improved. The concept is good, and the effort in recreating a unique historical culinary context is commendable.

Trattoria Gatto Nero is the perfect place to stop when Pietrasanta opens up to the light of the square. The tables overlook Piazza Giosuè Carducci, the dining room has a calm pace, and the service is attentive without being intrusive. The pace is perfect, the atmosphere is friendly and precise, and the setting—right on the beautiful central square—adds that sense of space that makes the stop more enjoyable than expected. My most vivid memory is the tordelli with Pietrasanta ragù: fresh homemade pasta, elastic dough, a flavorful filling, and a ragù that smells of slow cooking and restraint. It's the house's signature dish, executed with a confident hand and full flavor, the kind of first course that silences the table and raises the bar for lunch. The rest follows the same path: focused traditional cuisine, crisp flavors, and just the right portions. You leave feeling like you've eaten "in the square," but with the care and attention of a family-run trattoria: tidy, attentive, and reliable. A firm five-star rating.

We had an excellent 1.3 kg Florentine steak, tender and cooked to perfection. The ladies were very kind and friendly. I absolutely recommend it.
