A wonderful treasure tucked away from the hustle and bustle of tourists in Taormina but right off of Corso Umberto. This is a family owned and run trattoria that uses only the freshest local ingredients and it shows (and tastes!). Not to be missed is a tasting 'tagliere' of local antipasti to start with. The 'caserecci alla norma' was an excellent choice as a 'primo' and a traditional Sicilian pasta dish. The atmosphere of the outside patio is peaceful and lovely with the orange trees and the service is friendly and welcoming in English as well as Italian. Not to be missed is the dessert called 'fagottino con mele, cannella e mandorle' topped off with a bit of vanilla gelato and followed by one of their home-made liquors. I dined there several times on my last trip to Taormina and I will definitely be returning to Don Camillo on my next stay!

It was a pleasant surprise. Staff was courteous and very helpful when comes to explaining the dishes and special for the day. We ended up ordering fish, some pasta dishes. As it’s a family run restaurant, the vibes were warm and food was delicious and made with love. Also the price wise, it’s tad bit cheaper than other places around it.

Delicious family made food recommended to us by the local guide. We really enjoyed all the dishes and a very welcoming atmosphere.

Escondido en la calle lateral del extremo "Catania" del Corso se encuentra Don Camillo's, un restaurante de gestión familiar con un hermoso comedor exterior elevado cubierto de árboles frutales y suavemente iluminado a medida que se oscurece la noche. Mi esposa y yo nos encontramos sentados entre algunas pequeñas familias locales sicilianas en varias mesas. Y cuando te encuentras con gente local comiendo fuera, sabes que va a ser bueno. Mi esposa optó por el Polpetti, yo opté por el pescado frito mixto, ensalada de naranja y las patatas. Una botella de vino, el calor de la noche, las conversaciones italianas, cierra los ojos y podrías estar entre "tu familia italiana". La comida, el servicio, el precio y el ambiente donde todo "spot on" en términos ingleses. Muy recomendable, volveremos a visitar antes de que terminen nuestras vacaciones.

I am writing this review right away after a fantastic dinner in this very welcoming place, with fantastic food and excellent service (also in English). We ate excellent fish, an exceptional dessert and two excellent liqueurs. All home-made. And the coffee was good too. In short, highly recommended.

Cenamos dos veces aquí durante nuestra corta visita a Taormina, ya que la comida era muy buena. Auténtica comida siciliana, todo recién cocinado. Excelente vino y servicio también. Entre los platos destacados se incluyen la lubina cocinada al estilo siciliano con tomates, aceitunas y alcaparras; albóndigas de carne cocinadas en hojas de limón y todos nuestros postres. Los precios son muy razonables y es una joya rara en una ciudad con tantos restaurantes de pasta y pizza demasiado similares a los que encontraríamos en Londres.
