Outstanding! This place is the one in Taranto. It's a little tucked away, just off the sea front, but absolutely worth seeking out. It has that perfect balance of elegance and informality that is hard to define but so enjoyable when you find it. The host, one of the proprietors, was welcoming and amusing, and most importantly was very helpful with the menu. When he suggested sharing dishes rather than overordering, we knew we were on to a good thing. And he replaced my wine choice with a slightly cheaper one. Can you do better than that? The food, all fresh from the sea, was delicious: uncomplicated and ingredient based. What Italy, and Puglia in particular, does best. We fell into it almost by accident, but can't wait to go back.

Restaurant de spécialités de poissons, un régal de fraîcheur En antipasti, je conseille celui du pescatore, 1 pour deux personnes suffisant, 6 petits plats: Moules gratinées, timbale de crevettes, poulpes, poisson assaisonné, petite friture de poissons, petits escargots de mer. Excellent. A very Italian atmosphere, and very good products, as found in typical Italian trattorias. You can choose the fish of your choice from the fishmonger’s stall. It then goes to the kitchen to treat you. Extra fresh. Finally, the value for money is unbeatable.

When you enter, the shop looks more like a fishmonger, where you can see the freshly caught fish on the refrigerated counter. In the guest room (arrive early - it gets packed even in the off-season!) but pleasant despite the poor acoustics and quickly filled with a wildly mixed mix of international guests and Italian families during our visit. Great, cheerful staff with a lot of humor and very tasty cuisine - not haute cuisine, but honest Italian cuisine at its best!

Il ristorante ci era stato fortemente raccomandato, ma siamo rimasti abbastanza delusi. Servizio lento e approssimativo, non tutti i piatti del menù erano disponibili. Alcuni prodotti sembravano surgelati. Primi abbondanti ma nella media per qualità e gusto. Rapporto qualità prezzo buono

06/01/2025: Delicious food and wonderful service! It is a great spot near the National Archaeological Museum and one of the few places open later than most in order to take a late lunch. Highly recommend!
23/11/2024: From Bari to Taranto to see Michele Zarrillo's concert, we find ourselves in this place to eat something. Good puccia, perhaps a little small compared to the typical Taranto puccia, quality ingredients, fast and extremely friendly service. Small location, but very nice and well looked after. Prices slightly above average, especially the beer, €3.00 for a common Peroni 33 cl. this is exaggerated!!!

12/01/2025: We are an Argentine family staying in Lecce and we decided to come and spend the day in Manduria. We ate a variety of excellent dishes and for dessert the tiramisu and tart which were also very good. We were looked after by the owner himself, very nice and kind. The atmosphere is very warm and everything is very clean. We went in the off season so it was also very quiet. We definitely recommend it! We are a family from Argentina who host us in Lecce and we decide to come and spend the day in Manduria. We have a variety of excellent dishes and then the tiramisu and the pastaflora which are also very popular. We waited for the same dueño, very nice and lovable. The very warm and all very clean environment. We were in low weather so it was also very quiet. We definitely recommend it! We are a family from Argentina who stayed in Lecce and decided to come and spend the day in Manduria.
