We chose Trattoria dei Bracconieri in Brunate to celebrate a special occasion, and it proved to be a wonderful choice. Perched high above the beautiful town of Como, this charming and cosy restaurant enjoys one of the most breathtaking locations imaginable.
The food was absolutely delicious, from the starters to the main courses and desserts. Everything was beautifully prepared and full of flavour. The fresh orange juice was particularly outstanding – one of the best I have ever tasted.
What made the experience truly unforgettable was dining on the open terrace, almost like sitting on a balcony suspended above the town. The panoramic views across Como and the lake were simply spectacular. Looking down from such a height while enjoying a leisurely lunch created a magical atmosphere.
The staff were welcoming, the setting was picturesque, and the entire experience felt special from beginning to end. Even the name, "Trattoria dei Bracconieri" – "The Hunters' Tavern" – adds a touch of character and humour.
If you are visiting Lake Como and would like to enjoy excellent food with truly stunning views, I would highly recommend this delightful restaurant.

High-quality food; we had homemade, delicious gnocchi, and a table right by the railing with a perfect view. You don't notice the tourist crowds at all; it's very quiet and has a family atmosphere. If you're in the area, you should definitely eat here.

Omg. The Braised Beef with Polenta was the highlight of my experience in Como. The meaty & rich sauce was by far the best I've tried in Italy thus far, and worked so well with the beef! I've developed a new addiction.
The view of Lake Como from above is also absolutely stunning and therapeutic for my mind. More importantly, the service of this restaurant is excellent!
I'd highly recommend this restaurant for anyone visiting Como; it's a no-brainer and I'll be back here again!

The view is truly beautiful, and that is probably the main reason people come here.
Unfortunately, the overall experience did not match the scenery. The food was very average, nothing special. What disappointed us most was the attitude at the entrance. As soon as we arrived, the woman at the cashier handed us the menu and insisted that we had to choose right there before sitting down.
I explained that my foot was hurting and politely asked if I could sit and choose from the menu, but she answered “no” with a very strict, almost schoolteacher-like attitude. It felt far from welcoming or kind.
It was raining heavily that day; otherwise, we definitely would not have stayed. Beautiful view, but the food and service need serious improvement.

Lunch with my daughter and partner on the terrace with a magnificent view. We were greeted in French, the service was impeccable, and the food was absolutely delicious! The limoncello cocktail was pleasant and refreshing, and they had a good wine list. We shared a charcuterie platter with tomato and mozzarella, followed by a delicious polenta with beef, as well as fresh fish. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The food is top-notch!
Indeed, right at the beginning, we were asked if we were ordering a full meal, and after confirming, we were told to go to the cashier to place our order, and they would then assign us a table.
On the other hand, with such a location and very limited space, I can understand that probably three-quarters of the customers would want to come in for a coffee for 3 euros, but a business like this has to survive somehow.
I admit, we went there because of the terrible rain, and to escape the rain, we decided to have lunch – and the food was so wonderful and delicious that we also ordered dessert. The pasta was homemade and delicious.
I can honestly say that this is some of the best pasta we've had in the area.

The view here is absolutely outstanding—one of the highlights of our visit to Brunate. We had dinner at 7 PM with my wife, and the experience was amazing.
The food was very good, and the dessert was perfect to finish the evening. The atmosphere, especially with the view, makes it a truly special place.
We strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area!
