Not only is eating at Sant Egidio a great idea (which makes you behave in a deeply Roman way), but it's also simply delicious, not overrun with Instagrammers, and just good.

There were three of us for lunch. We had excellent first courses. I personally enjoyed a dreamy matriciana. The meat was also excellent. The service was provided by some very kind, "special" people. I recommend it!!

Authentic Roman cuisine restaurant, with well-prepared dishes and quality ingredients. The staff is excellent: friendly, helpful, and always attentive, making guests feel at ease. Welcoming atmosphere and a lovely ambiance. Overall, a place definitely worth a try. When I return to Rome, I'll definitely stop by again!

We stumbled upon the restaurant by chance, after overhearing a waiter at Tonarello mocking us, thinking we didn't understand him. We found a lovely place, delicious food, and a wonderful inclusion project. It was a pleasure meeting them!

We had a wonderful evening! Good food at reasonable prices. I really like that the owners are helping disabled people with work at their restaurant, very good heart people. Perfect location, where you dont have to que for forever in the cold. I can highly recommend! Next time I would like to see draft beer on the menu 😊

Great food and atmosphere, super nice concept and wonderful staff. I can really recommend this restaurant that is in a great location and besides having a wonderful food contributes to a positive cause in the neighbourhood. Not just a Gram restaurant (where you have to wait) but a true caring one ❤️.

Beautiful inside, tarpaulin umbrellas outside. Food poorly prepared. I asked for well-done beef tenderloin and got medium. Average service. I came to it because there was a line at the one next to it. Now I understand and I regret not waiting 10-15 minutes.

31/03/2026: "Roma Caput mundi" It's easy to say that the capital satisfies you, it makes you enjoy your time. Rome is so much. If you want to reward yourself in the evening with a long-awaited dinner and you find the perfect place, well, then the day ends in glory. Let's now return to "Emilio," the typical Roman trattoria. Here you'll find the best. The place is simply what you'd expect when entering an osteria. Simple tables, a simple, clean space, wood-paneled walls, and paintings commemorating the passing of actors, singers, and celebrities who have dined here. The menu also respects tradition. Classic first courses, as do the second courses and desserts. On two evenings, we enjoyed pasta alla carbonara, pasta alla amatriciana, rabbit, saltimbocca, pecorino, puntarelle, and the inevitable artichokes. Rome on a plate! The cuisine satisfies! The recipe for each dish has probably been passed down for a long time, it is rigorously respected. Every dish is simply made to order. There you are, full, smiling. You've had meticulous service with attention to detail, willing to offer advice on culinary questions, and a very fair final bill. The restaurant, with all the tables always occupied, says it all... The icing on the cake is seeing elderly dad still checking on the guests as he wanders around, while mom does that in the kitchen. Our good evening was, "Thank you, we'll book for tomorrow night too." Hats off, guys!

08/06/2026: You eat well in Rome, and this is no exception. 🏠Location 7/10 The exterior is a classic little village restaurant in Rome's historic center, but inside it's a bit more original and has a more trattoria-like feel. The place I ate was a hidden interior room, essentially their cellar, evocative and intimate at the same time. 🍝Menu 9/10 There isn't a single dish that isn't reminiscent of Roman cuisine; everything is simply exquisite! As a Roman (and a purist), I can only compliment the cuisine; the dishes are beautifully crafted and delicious. The wine list is the envy of the Bible; you'll definitely find a bottle that pairs deliciously with your meal. 👨🏻‍💼Service 8/10 Attentive, pragmatic, friendly. Basically, the trifecta of desires when you're served. The waiters' experience is evident, and their presence is not at all intrusive. 📜Country 6/10 We're in the center of Rome, and that alone should put any vain attempt to save money at bay. However, the quality/price ratio is more than adequate, considering the dishes are well-prepared and the overall experience is well worth it. In conclusion, I recommend it primarily because it's not a tourist trap, but also, and obviously, because the food is excellent. For those who want to enjoy a truly Roman dinner after finishing their tour of the most beautiful city in the world at Piazza di Spagna, all they need to do is walk down Via dei Condotti to this magical and legendary place.
