Not only is eating at Sant Egidio a great idea (which makes you behave in a deeply Roman way), but it's also simply delicious, not overrun with Instagrammers, and just good.

There were three of us for lunch. We had excellent first courses. I personally enjoyed a dreamy matriciana. The meat was also excellent. The service was provided by some very kind, "special" people. I recommend it!!

Authentic Roman cuisine restaurant, with well-prepared dishes and quality ingredients. The staff is excellent: friendly, helpful, and always attentive, making guests feel at ease. Welcoming atmosphere and a lovely ambiance. Overall, a place definitely worth a try. When I return to Rome, I'll definitely stop by again!

We stumbled upon the restaurant by chance, after overhearing a waiter at Tonarello mocking us, thinking we didn't understand him. We found a lovely place, delicious food, and a wonderful inclusion project. It was a pleasure meeting them!

We had a wonderful evening! Good food at reasonable prices. I really like that the owners are helping disabled people with work at their restaurant, very good heart people. Perfect location, where you dont have to que for forever in the cold. I can highly recommend! Next time I would like to see draft beer on the menu 😊

Great food and atmosphere, super nice concept and wonderful staff. I can really recommend this restaurant that is in a great location and besides having a wonderful food contributes to a positive cause in the neighbourhood. Not just a Gram restaurant (where you have to wait) but a true caring one ❤️.

Beautiful inside, tarpaulin umbrellas outside. Food poorly prepared. I asked for well-done beef tenderloin and got medium. Average service. I came to it because there was a line at the one next to it. Now I understand and I regret not waiting 10-15 minutes.

08/04/2026: I went to dinner with my grandmother; the atmosphere was excellent, and the service was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. It was a very pleasant dinner, and I would definitely return!
03/04/2026: To be completely honest the food was not the greatest. We ordered the steak and the shrimp scampi. The steak was the thinnest piece I'd ever seen and the shrimp was slightly overcooked. One thing I will say though is romans sure know how to cook some potatoes. After all the reviews we seen we decided to make this restraunt our last meal while in rome. I now wish we would have choosen one of the hole in the wall places behind the national bank. The staff was extremely kind it just wasn't the experience we were hopping for is all. I would recommend sticking with their pasta. The other guest we could over hear talking about how amazing their food was.

07/05/2026: I can honestly say it was the best thing I've ever eaten in my life. The gnocchi were delicious too. We went two days in a row. We didn't want to take any risks 🥰 The only negative thing: we couldn't resist and ordered an extra portion of pasta. The truffle pasta cost 25 euros. We said we would share it, and they split one portion into two portions. They charged an extra 5 euros. I don't think that was nice. It's an expensive place, so it's best to know that before you go.
