I was looking for an authentic Roman dining experience and I found it at Trattoria Da Tonino on Via del Governo Vecchio. The atmosphere is welcoming and rustic, the service is efficient and friendly, and the food is simply "de Roma". The Gricia was perfectly al dente, the bacon was tasty and the pecorino romano created a creamy and irresistible sauce. I also tasted the amatriciana, which was equally excellent. The staff were attentive and thoughtful but not intrusive and made sure we had everything we needed. Very reasonable price.

Perfect food! Very calm and beautiful atmosphere, traditional! Of course, they don't speak Italian like in almost all of Italy, but at least the staff is very polite!

We only took two first courses, honest portions, ditto for the prices.
The other person really liked the cacio e pepe (tonnarelli), while I, who had the carbonara, had something to complain about (see photo).
Decent flavour, but unfortunately the egg was quite a bit fried and the dish was soaked in oil. (See photo!).
The place was full, mainly, of tourists.

I ordered roast veal with potatoes and a cola. 16 euros
I had searched in advance for restaurants in Rome that were known to be delicious, but due to my lack of search, I was unable to order what I had in mind, so I ended up with this dish. However, the food at the restaurant, which has a reputation for being delicious, is delicious.
The meat is tender and well-seasoned with rosemary and pepper, a nice accent. I had it with bread.

The total for what would be well over 100€ was only 57€! The BEST Alla Gricia I've had so far. Absolutely delicious!
