Scelto la prima volta grazie alle buone recensioni e perché comodo al nostro albergo, ci siamo trovati talmente bene che ci siamo tornati una seconda volta . Il locale ha i suoi anni ma li porta con dignità , è accogliente con le vecchie fotografie alle pareti, i dettagli in ferro battuto, parti di muro di pietra. Il menù propone i piatti della tradizione e vorresti assaggiarli tutti. In entrambe le nostre visite abbiamo apprezzato il pesce freschissimo, i primi piatti gustosi, cucinati con cura e con delle materie prime ottime . Lo staff è serio ed efficiente ed il conto finale giusto.

I have been to this restaurant many times, the place is nice, welcoming, the service is excellent. Unfortunately I was disappointed by the change in my favorite dish, the mixed seafood appetizer, in the past it was much richer, they brought you everything... Now they have reduced the quantity a lot, and the quality also leaves something to be desired, many raw, which I do not like, also because if they are not very fresh you run some risks. Overall sufficient.

Informal and welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff. I wanted to eat some fish and I was recommended a fish appetizer that was delicious and an excellent mandarin sorbet that I really appreciated, as well as the mix of biscuits and cinnamon liqueur. I will definitely return to try other dishes, the spaghetti with squid ink served at the next table looks exquisite.

Welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent value for money. Pasta alla Norma is a must. An excellent stop for those who want to taste real Catania cuisine.

Se siete alla ricerca di un ristorante di pesce freschissimo nel cuore di Catania, Trattoria da Peppino è una scelta eccellente. Il locale colpisce subito per l’arredamento ricercato e particolare, che crea un’atmosfera accogliente e curata nei dettagli. Abbiamo iniziato con un antipasto fantasia dello chef, un tripudio di sapori di mare con diverse specialità: polpo alla Luciana, calamari fritti, arancini al nero di seppia, gamberi e molto altro. Ogni assaggio era ben preparato, con ingredienti di alta qualità e grande attenzione alla presentazione. Per i primi, abbiamo scelto spaghetti con vongole e gamberi, serviti in porzioni generose. Il sapore autentico del mare si percepiva in ogni boccone, grazie alla freschezza degli ingredienti e alla cottura perfetta della pasta. Un dettaglio che ha reso l’esperienza ancora più piacevole è stata la cortesia del proprietario: poiché era rimasto solo un caffè decaffeinato, ci ha gentilmente offerto limoncello della casa e biscottini, un gesto che dimostra attenzione e ospitalità. Il locale è inoltre molto pulito e ben tenuto, un aspetto che aggiunge valore all’esperienza complessiva. Trattoria da Peppino è un’ottima scelta per chi desidera gustare piatti di pesce freschissimo in un ambiente curato e accogliente, con un servizio attento e generoso. Consigliatissimo!
