We are very lucky that we found this restaurant. It is a family run restaurant and it seems many locals dine there. It is just 10 mins walk from the city centre.
The fish dishes are so fresh and tasty, not to mention the reasonable price (can’t believe 28 mussels for just €8)!
The pasta is also very delicious. We had a great time there for lunch and dinner during our last day in Catania.
The last but not least, it is a very honest restaurant. It states clearly which fish out of all dishes are frozen fish. How many restaurants do this to be honest?

Quiet trattoria. Excellent. Fabulous value for money. The traditional Catanese cuisine is truly delicious. The staff is highly qualified, helpful, polite, and very knowledgeable and friendly. You truly get a taste of the authentic Catanese cuisine and feel the heartbeat of Catania. I highly recommend it. The best trattoria I've ever eaten at in all of Sicily.

I had the peppered mussels and the sardines a beccafico, and I have to say they were both excellent. The place is nice.

Oh yes! At last we found it! Real, good quality Sicilian food at realistic prices. Actually the food wasn't just good, it was superb. Just a shame it was our last night, I could have eaten here every night for a week. Great atmosphere, great service, terrific food. A memorable place altogether.

The positive: food came fast, the (horse)meat tasted good, was good. The negative: the horse was really thin and i could have easily eaten 2 of those. Costed only 7 so i guess you get how much you pay. The really bad thing was the food was covered and soaked to oil, and i guess ultraprocessed seedoil (girasole).. i asked about oil, but the waiter did not understand for his poor english. In the menu there was no mention of any oil or dressing on the mista salat, and also horsemeat. So what do you do? When you dont eat seedoil? See the picture

A nice little place in the center, small inside and out but with a genuine spirit. They could improve the food; our first courses were pasta alla castanese and pasta alla palermitana, which were nothing special, and the second courses weren't exactly thrilling. Considering the price, €33 per person isn't cheap.
