I have been coming to Baia Di Sfinale since 1982. I used to help out in the kitchen or serve just in front of Hotel Mira. I had never eaten here because of the uninviting sign, even though we have been staying across the street for 10 years now. But on the recommendation of a couple who have also been coming here for just as long, I decided to give it a try. Upon entering at 19:45, we were able to choose a table for two; the plastic on the table felt grubby. After a while, a white piece of paper was placed on it. The table was set and drinks were poured. Half a liter of white wine, which I strongly felt had been diluted with water. The bruschetta was tasty. But then came the wait for a menu… There was a very noisy group of Germans. Everything was presented to us in German, even though I hate the German language. I am not German, either! I speak several languages ​​and just want to communicate in Italian. We ordered and it dragged on and on; no one indicated that it would take a bit longer or anything… At 9:00 PM we finally got a dish. We wanted more, but due to the shouting of the Germans, the long wait, and the heat that had built up by then, we stuck to just one dish and went to sit quietly on our own terrace. The quality is fine, portions not too big. But the price, considering you can only pay cash and the service provided by just two people cooking and serving, is far too high. Unfortunately, we are sticking to Oltramare and places in Vieste or Peschici.
