If you're in Sorrento and want to eat truly well, Trattoria da Emilia is a surefire choice. Simple but well-prepared cuisine, fresh ingredients, and dishes that reflect true tradition. The fish is excellent, the pasta dishes are full of flavor, and everything is uncomplicated. The difference, however, is the atmosphere: eating practically by the sea, with a view like this, changes everything. Friendly service, fast and genuine. A place you'll gladly return to, without thinking twice.

Unforgettable Emilia... excellent food and plenty of fried fish and, what's more, excellent value for money. Kindness and friendliness are top notch.

The absolute best meal we’ve had since being in Sorrento, and that’s not even including the view. The gnocchi and ravioli caprese were both amazing with the freshest tasting unique sauces between both dishes. Such reasonable prices too

We visited Trattoria Da Emilia in October on a rainy, chilly day. The restaurant is right by the water, which I imagine would be amazing in good weather, but sitting outside under plastic curtains on a cold, wet day did take away a bit from the overall atmosphere. That said — the food more than made up for it. The seafood was incredibly fresh and perfectly seasoned, simple in the best Italian way. The mixed fish dish was outstanding, and even two months later I still find myself thinking about how good it was. Every bite tasted like high-quality ingredients treated with care. Rain or shine, come for the seafood, the view is definitely a plus.

My mom and I accidentally discovered Trattoria Da Emilia while roaming the charming streets of Sorrento back in June and what a find it was! Not only was it a wonderful surprise to end up dining right by the water, but even with a line out front, we somehow got incredibly lucky and were seated on the patio completely by chance. I noticed what looked like the owner (or perhaps the general manager) walking around, checking on guests, and helping with service, which added such a warm, authentic touch. Like many restaurants by the water in Italy, the seafood here is incredibly fresh ~ and this place is no exception. We ordered the seafood platter, grilled vegetables, and ravioli with marinara sauce. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious, right down to the bread. We also enjoyed some Prosecco, which paired perfectly with the meal. The view was stunning, and the whole restaurant buzzed with lively, happy energy. I would definitely return ~ not only because it was surprisingly affordable, but also because restaurants like this, with their true authenticity and old-world charm, are my favorite. One small note: the bathroom is on the second floor, so if you’re older or have mobility issues, just keep in mind there’s a set of stairs to climb. But that’s very common across Western Europe. Fun fact: This beautiful little spot in Marina Grande has some real cinematic history. Sofia Loren and Vittorio De Sica, while in Sorrento filming Dino Risi’s famous 1954 movie “Pane, amore e…” (Bread, Love, and…), actually sat at the tables of Trattoria Emilia. How amazing is that?

I had a very good fish platter at a decent price. The house wine was also good. My only complaint is that, although the area is famous for its lemons and limoncello, it seems a shame that not even a shot is offered on the house. I was amazed to see that in many terraces in the Amalfi area limoncello is offered by the shot or spritz at a very high price.

This was our first lunch in Sorrento. We were here in Sept 2025 when we did our Amalfi coast trip. This place is right by the water. The setting was beautiful. You can just about see Mt Vesuvius across the ocean. They have a nice selection of food items. What we ordered was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Th service was very good too! Will definitely come back.

An excellent place to try the best Italian cuisine. I won't say anything new that isn't already in these reviews, but the truth is that the spaghetti vongole and gnocchi vongole were spectacular. Furthermore, the service and location make it well worth the visit. Highly recommended. If I ever return to Sorrento, this is a must-visit.
