Textbook Florentine steak and absolute value for money. Location without too many frills but excellent for an informal dinner. Choose their classic format: appetizer with cold cuts, cannellini beans and bruschetta and then his majesty the Ciccia, cooked with mastery in the perpetual embers! They offer house wine in flasks but if you have a minimum knowledge of wine, ask for one of the labels present in the restaurant, including some excellent classic Chiantis! Highly recommended for Ciccia without paying too much attention to the shape.

It was a great discovery! A restaurant that reminds me of when I was little, a family atmosphere, friendly staff. Very good and abundant first courses, we ate tortelli lucchesi, spicy spaghetti and straccetti al ragu, all delicious. Abundant and tasty rostinciana, fresh and well-spiced sausages, really soft, juicy and tasty steak cooked Florentine style. Delicious torta della nonna and zuppa inglese, perfectly dosed and really good. Also good coffee. Final surprise.. we spent little compared to the average of other restaurants and we ate really well!! Worth it!! Compliments to the staff!! Highly recommended!!!

Ho già recensito nel 2012 e nel 2020 questo locale per noi familiare visto che tutte le volte che passiamo in zona deviamo per i piatti squisiti in primis la carne ed anche per la cortesia dei titolari. Anche di recente siamo passati due volte dove la prima tutto normalmente splendido invece la seconda, mai successo sinora, siamo usciti delusi. Può capitare ...ci è stata portata una fiorentina veramente cruda e fredda ...abbiamo chiesto una ripassata ...ma ce l'hanno restituita dopo cottura al forno.... non è la stessa cosa la carne alla brace rispetto al forno...non ce l'aspettavamo... l'errore a ns avviso è stato importante. La cosa che ci ha stranito è che quel giorno anche i tavoli attorno a noi avevano tutti carne decisamente cruda ...va bene che trattasi di fiorentina...ma se ti si chiede un minimo di cottura in più sulla brace come nel nostro caso metterla in forno non ci è sembrata cosa adeguata. Ci ritorneremo perchè peraltro da Benito non c'è solo carne buona ...ad esempio gli spaghetti un pò piccantini sono sempre al top così come i fagioli!

Quando passo vicino Pontedera è sempre tappa fissa. Una garanzia ogni volta che ci torno. Servizio accogliente e professionale, portate di prima qualità.. e la bistecca è sempre il 🔝
