Trattoria Croara offers an atmosphere that takes you back in time.
That of the classic trattorias of times gone by, where authenticity reigns supreme and there are no unnecessary frills.
An increasingly rare experience to find nowadays, and therefore even more appreciable.
Even though we hadn't booked, the lady who welcomed us was very kind and helpful.
However, he found a place for us in an almost full room.
A gesture that made us feel welcome.
However, the waiter did not show the same spirit.
He seemed more annoyed with us than anything else, repeatedly ignoring us and taking orders from customers who clearly arrived after us.
A real shame.
Maybe next time it would be better not to judge the guests only by appearance.
Moving on to the food, lunch started with a plate of cured meats and fried crescentine.
The cured meats were very fresh and of excellent quality, with a raw ham that melted in your mouth, a fragrant mortadella and a salami rich in flavour.
The crescentine were light, golden and well fried, without any trace of grease.
A perfect combination to start with.
As a first course, I opted for the green lasagna.
They were cooked to perfection, with a flavorful ragu and a creamy béchamel sauce that didn't overpower the other flavors.
My traveling companions, however, chose a trio of first courses, which turned out to be a very good choice.
From tortelloni to ragù to seasonal stuffed pasta, each dish was well balanced and carefully prepared.
So much so that choosing the best one was practically impossible.
As for desserts, however, a somewhat mixed experience.
The crème caramel was rather anonymous.
While the almond pudding was a real discovery.
Creamy, delicate and with an intense flavor that made it unforgettable.
Overall, the food was great.
The portions were generous and the value for money was more than fair.
It's a shame that the experience was partially ruined by the waiter's attitude.
But the quality of the dishes and the atmosphere of times gone by still make Trattoria Croara a place worth returning to.
Maybe with a little more luck on the serve.

Passing through the hills of Bologna, we find this restaurant on Maps which convinces us simply from the photos. Trattoria of the past, menu of typical dishes at prices that are now unobtainable for me, practical and direct service. Simply good, traditional, genuine, pearls of an Italy that is unfortunately disappearing. €25 each with an appetizer of mixed cured meats and crescentine, plus tagliatelle with meat sauce and Romagna, water, dessert, coffee. We're not local, but we'll definitely be back! A pearl

Are there still typical trattorias with excellent quality food at moderate prices? After having dined in this splendid restaurant like those of the past, my answer is yes. Everything was excellent, including the wines which however remained on the shelves due to the new highway code which prevented me from tasting them. But starters, tigelle and cold cuts, all spectacular.

A place that has many advantages, including the location, the parking and the long tradition of local cuisine. He made crescentine even when they weren't as fashionable as they are now. It's not exactly cheap. The flaw it has is the strong noise created in the full room, which prevents diners from talking to each other without having to shout. You come out a little "worried".

We have been frequenting the restaurant for at least 40 years. We have always had a wonderful time both for the quality and variety of the food and for the wonderful welcome of the staff. For us it will always remain an indispensable point of reference.

Chosen by my son... truly unique and special.. I recommend the tortellini in broth and lasagna, even two half portions then we made ourselves a plate of sublime tripe..... highly recommended..... believe me try it to believe it .

Dal 1980 quando mamgiavo le tagliatelle al ragu fatte a mano da un amica di famiglia di Bologna che non mangiavo più delle tagliatelle e del ragù cosi favoloso.
Anche i passatelli e le crespelle erano una favola.
Pulizia perfetta. Parcheggio ampio e servizio super gentile. Menu sin troppo grande.
Una delle trattorie da consigliare assolutamente
