This trattoria serves delicious Bazzone prosciutto, a typical Garfagnana specialty, and a delicious dry-aged Black Angus steak. The ground-floor dining room is very intimate, with a small stove that lights up and warms the room, perfect for winter.

Eight friends. We found this recommendation in an old Lonely Planet guide. We reached the trattoria, which is located in a remote area in the municipality of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana. We arrived on a Saturday in November and discovered we were the only customers. We entered a little wary, but quickly changed our minds. The atmosphere is exquisite, and the dining experience is excellent. The appetizers are flawless (salted tongue with giardiniera, a platter of crostini and cured meats, hand-sliced ​​Bazzone prosciutto). Among the first courses, we couldn't forget the perfect tagliolini with truffles and the homemade tortelli with ragù. The braised cheek also deserves pride of place. What more can we say? A must-try for anyone visiting Garfagnana.

Excellent, carefully prepared dishes, as if they were homemade 😜... Quality products... Like the Bazzone ham... Which rivals the Spanish 😁... Too bad it's not close to home. I'd be there at least twice a week...
