A stopover on the way to Puglia from Sicily. Traditional food, home-cooked with the passion of a lifelong practitioner, featuring local ingredients and collaborations with small local businesses. Patrizia welcomed us like family, suggesting and describing her dishes. Everything was delicious! Congratulations, we'll definitely recommend it and be back!

We stumbled upon Trattoria La Cantina almost by accident. We were greeted by Patrizia, who puts her heart and soul into her work. The food is nothing short of spectacular... The atmosphere is welcoming and warm. Traditional dishes prepared with care and passion.

An authentic Calabrian experience in the heart of Cantinelle. "La Cantina" is a family-run restaurant where tradition reigns supreme as soon as you enter. The simple, homey atmosphere is the perfect backdrop for authentic cuisine bursting with local flavors.
We enjoyed homemade dishes prepared with fresh, local ingredients: generous appetizers and homemade pasta reminiscent of grandma's cooking. The delicious antipasti and porcini mushroom pasta dishes are not to be missed. The house wine also accompanied the meal.
The hostess was extremely kind, helpful, and eager to passionately recommend the daily specials. It felt like eating at a friend's house, with the quality of a cuisine passed down through time.
A restaurant I highly recommend to anyone seeking authenticity, flavor, and Calabrian hospitality. We will definitely return.

The bistro is a tranquil escape from the chaos of city life, embodying the essence of a truly slow-paced lifestyle. If you're in the area, it's the perfect place to savor traditional Calabrian cuisine made with locally sourced ingredients.
The hostess, La Signora, the waitress was incredibly kind to us. After seating us at the table, she promptly offered some delightful bread, including a spicy bread with peperoncino. The restaurant has only five tables, so it's advisable to make a reservation in advance.
The antipasto is a must-try, featuring a selection of typical dishes that allow you to enjoy a variety of delicious flavors. We decided to go straight to the second course, but the pasta and first course options looked so tempting that we couldn't resist ordering a bowl of pasta and fagioli.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we will definitely be back. Bravi!

We ate well, although some dishes seemed bland (but perhaps that's part of Calabrian culinary culture). The welcome was warm, although the chef's (he prefers to be called that) temper tantrum over an incident that occurred shortly before our order meant that the gnocchi ordered for my son left a lot to be desired... 🤷♀️🤦♀️

The atmosphere was rustic and welcoming, accompanied by light jazz music. I chose the fish menu, and I must say the dishes were very good and well-prepared, despite their specialty being meat. Unfortunately, the accompanying wine didn't taste good. Dessert wasn't bad: I had mini babas, but the egg flavor was too strong; however, the fig honey (homemade by the chef) that covered it was delicious. The staff was kind and friendly, although the salad I ordered, which had asked for chopped garlic, was instead replaced with garlic oil, at the chef's discretion.
The price was definitely fair for the quality.

As soon as we entered, we felt right at home, like family.
The staff were extremely kind, helpful, and very friendly... so much so that we stayed talking for over half an hour after dinner.
A quaint, well-maintained, and well-kept restaurant.
The food was truly delicious. We started with the mixed antipasto (which includes about 10-12 courses) of typical Calabrian dishes. The meatballs, potatoes, and peppers (like grandma's) and the potato tart with 'nduja (sausage) particularly stood out.
For our first course, we decided to try the tagliatelle with mushrooms, which was truly fresh and tasty, but the gnocchi with 'nduja and caciocavallo were on another level.
Highly recommended for savoring traditional dishes and, above all, excellent local ingredients.
