Ristorante La Baita In Aieta

Fixed stop during our stays in Praia a mare. Lunch or dinner, the service is always friendly and impeccable and the food excellent. Traditional Calabrian cuisine and top quality local products. The view over the valley is a plus during lunch. Highly recommended.

I return to the Baita again, this time at Easter. Chef Giacomino, a stainless king in the kitchen, is like good wine: he gets better with age! The proposals are enriched and even more consolidated dishes are perfected. It is always a pleasant surprise to rediscover the genuine flavors of quality raw materials. The cellar is well enriched, with very interesting niche labels, and Giacomo does not fail to discreetly suggest excellent pairings.

We have been going to this restaurant for more than ten years and it is always a certainty. Excellent quality of the dishes and impeccable courtesy of the staff. I recommend everyone to eat homemade lagane with chickpeas!! The ricotta is spectacular...what can I say, try it you will be thrilled!!

You eat plenty but only good food, try the tasting itinerary with appetizers, 3 first courses (Tagliatelle with chickpeas, Pasta with bran peppers and ravioli) and then you can choose a second course and a dessert. I've always had a good time even though you can only get there by car from the tourist resorts of northern Calabria (Praia, Scalea, Tortora, San Nicola...)

New Year's Eve dinner....An evening of traditional cuisine and good wishes for 2024... It was nice to feel welcomed like family, politeness, smiles and kindness make the Baita an adorable place. I highly recommend passing through Aieta not only as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy but also stopping and eating well: to feel at home.

Tasting the delicacies of the Baita in the wonderful village of Aieta is an experience that everyone should try at least once in their life. As soon as you enter, you have the perception of feeling at home and immersing yourself in authentic flavours. Mr. Giacomo's hospitality is unique; the climate is synonymous with absolute familiarity; the dishes are real sensory experiences. Fusilli with meat sauce, lagane and chickpeas, typical Aieta cheeses, pork shank, local sausage, home-made desserts such as crumbles and tiramisu (and much more!) are in fact a return to the past for those who grew up with the flavors of this land and, at the same time, a pleasant discovery for tourists and those passing through. What can I say, La Baita is truly a place of refreshment and regeneration for the palate!

Lunch on December 26th, all super good, but on the other hand Giacomino (owner) is a sure thing.

Uma experiência gastronômica de elevada qualidade, com pratos que são ao mesmo tempo simples, mas apresentados de modo requintado. No paladar traz a vivência familiar, da cozinha afetiva. Excelente atendimento!

Unbedingt einen Besuch wert, egal wie weit die Anfahrt ist. Total gemütliches, typisch kalabrisches Restaurant und in der Küche ist ein Meister am Werk! Wir ließen uns vom Chef beraten und probierten verschiedenen köstliche Vorspeisen, u.a. frittierte Zucchiniblüten, Polpette in Sugo, versch. Aufschnitte mit Käse uvm. Danach bekamen wir zwei Pasta Variationen, einmal mit Ricotta gefüllte Ravioli in Tomatensauce und einmal hausgemachte Kartoffelgnocchi mit Kürbis und Wildschwein Guanciale, danach noch eine köstliche Stelze vom schwarzen kalabrischen Schwein, dazu eine ausgezeichnete Flasche Rotwein! Der Abend war perfekt! Wenn wir wieder in der Gegend sind, kommen wir sicher wieder!!
