Update: On our second stay in Meran we stopped at the Trattoria Mainardo for lunch again. It was very crowded, but we managed to get a seat without a reservation. The food was again incredibly tasty & the owners are warm and great hosts. Another great recommendation for a delicious Italian meal in Meran.

Simple and very good food. Wonderful landlady. And if you order a Cafe Coretto, you not only get excellent espresso but - to serve yourself - a bottle of grappa on the table. For us it was the best and coziest restaurant in Merano during our 3-day stay.

Creamy and with hot coffee… absolutely a must try! Another great strength of the Trattoria is the excellent quality-price ratio. In a tourist environment like Merano, finding a restaurant where you eat well, with generous portions and at honest prices is truly a blessing! I highly recommend booking in advance, as the place is very popular, especially on weekends. Small place located in the central area of ​​Merano. You have the opportunity to taste the local specialties. Excellent cuisine and I would say abundant dishes (however the quantity remains subjective). Prices in line with those of the place. To conclude we spent a very pleasant evening. I absolutely recommend it, perhaps with a reservation.

If you are looking for bad food, baby portions, overpriced prices and rudeness, well, absolutely don't come here! And I said it all!! I'm sorry to be here in Merano only passing through so as not to be able to return many, many more times. Rare place, not to be missed!
