The cotoletta alla bolognese at Trattoria Amedeo is iconic, a must-try in Bologna. A simple, no-frills trattoria that recreates authentic, traditional flavors. The cotoletta is immense, and the side dishes are perfect. The potatoes and broccoli are top-notch, only the chicory is a bit subdued. A highly recommended place.

Stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and I’m very glad I did! They were fully booked but very kindly accommodated me at the start of the service. There is no English menu (a good sign) so I just used google translate and worked wonders. Food was amazing. Had pasta with porcini mushroom - perfectly seasoned and cooked with authentic flavours. Highly recommended! If you don’t have booking, I’d suggest come an hour before dinner service to ask if there is a table available or if they can squeeze you in at the start of dinner service - this trick has worked for me over the years travelling in Italy.

It was my first time there. There were six of us celebrating one of our birthdays. Two of us ate fish, and the others ate traditional.
We all enjoyed the dishes we chose; the fish was very good and well-cooked.
I think the place is worth a visit, so you can decide for yourself.

Cena piacevolissima:tagliatelle con burro e prosciutto, fritto misto, tutto abbondantissimo, birra, vino, acqua e caffè . In due, 45 euro per una cena davvero soddisfacente. Ambiente gradevole, personale molto gentile

In zona all'ora di pranzo ci siamo imbattuti in questa che poi abbiamo scoperto essere una storica Trattoria di Bologna. In effetti la frequentazione di clienti locali già era un indizio. Ci siamo accomodati nell'unico tavolo all'aperto sotto i portici che poi era anche l'ultimo posto libero. Che dire, abbiamo mangiato bene e speso il giusto.
