An impromptu lunch, a great experience. Mixed antipasto, spaghetti allo scoglio, and a fish soup with polenta. We left feeling full, and the Malvasia was also good.

It was excellent for us. We like old, simple, unpretentious "osterie," but with substance. Simple, good, and well-presented food. Ultimately, nothing else is needed!

It's a simple, clean, and tidy trattoria. The staff is friendly and attentive. From the appetizers to the main courses, everything was superb; the fish was fresh and you could taste it. The house wine was good. For what we ate, we got what we deserved. If it had 6 stars, I would have given it 6. I'll gladly return.

Cheap price for a very big portion. The pasta was very tasty but the fried seafood was a bit bland for us. The staff were super nice as well

We had the spaghetti scoglio and insalata mista. Both were very tasty and plentiful. The only downside was the house wine, which wasn't bad, but wasn't great either.

Un locale sul lungomare, tranquillo, dove si possono gustare i più svariati piatti cucinati in maniera eccellente, genuini, serviti con professionalità e cortesia, ambiente rilassante prezzo giusto

14/12/2025: In December 2024, we were looking for a nice place for dinner and, by pure chance, we discovered "El Fornel." How lucky! We enjoyed fresh, freshly prepared dishes, accompanied by excellent wine and friendly, attentive service. Everything tasted authentically like home cooking, and was truly delicious. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Trieste!

18/01/2026: Stunning location, chic decor, and world-class cuisine. Joia offers a premium dining experience. The service is attentive without being intrusive, and the food is consistently excellent. It’s the best spot in the city for a long lunch by the sea or a sophisticated dinner. You can tell the chef has a deep respect for Mediterranean traditions while adding a modern, creative touch. Impeccable service and an extensive wine list featuring great labels from Friuli. Highly recommended! If you go, whatever you do, order the shrimp tartare pasta. Unbelievably good!! A 10/10 experience.
