Unfortunately it is no longer the place it was until some time ago, empty place on Saturday at lunchtime, many things not available even though they were on the menu, friendly but inattentive service, quality that has dropped, sorry

Food was great but the service definitely a disaster. We have been waiting over 45min for a bottle of wine during the meal, the staff was not able to give info about bottles available and pricing. Probably some more training for the employees would help.

Quirky, playful decor and friendly, welcoming staff. We both had starters and mains for an early dinner - the chef is certainly experimental and trying to put a modern twist on traditional, local dishes. Some things worked better than others. The restaurant was very quiet, but it might be the time of year/time of day. The wine list was good, full of local options. And we were very touched to receive an unexpected birthday cake with a sparkling candle on it for the birthday we were celebrating.

Wonderful food, we tried the clam soup and the cacio e pepe with shrimp. The young waiter was really knowledgeable and friendly!

In the heart of Trieste. Warm welcome in an elegant and tranquil setting. Excellent and competent service. We started with the fantastic linguine cacio e pepe, with raw red shrimp. This was followed by a tasty grilled parago and baked new potatoes. Wines by the glass: Vitovska, Malvasia Friulana, and Friulano. A fine selection of Friulian and Julian wines is also available. Outdoor seating is available. We'll be back.

The location isn't huge, but it's comfortable. The staff is attentive to customer needs and always takes orders on time. I wasn't thrilled with the food, though the selection of appetizers was a welcome addition. The bill was average.

The photographs interact with the environment, making everything even more vibrant, exciting, and engaging. A dinner here isn't just a meal, but a complete experience. The fish and flavors are always excellent: I've always been pleasantly surprised. It doesn't happen often. Recommended.

Stunning location, chic decor, and world-class cuisine. Joia offers a premium dining experience. The service is attentive without being intrusive, and the food is consistently excellent. It’s the best spot in the city for a long lunch by the sea or a sophisticated dinner. You can tell the chef has a deep respect for Mediterranean traditions while adding a modern, creative touch. Impeccable service and an extensive wine list featuring great labels from Friuli. Highly recommended! If you go, whatever you do, order the shrimp tartare pasta. Unbelievably good!! A 10/10 experience.

We had a very enjoyable experience at this seafood restaurant in Trieste. We chose the five-course tasting menu, accompanied by a bottle of wine. Overall, the food was tasty and well presented. The chef clearly tries to bring creativity into the dishes, moving away from standard or predictable seafood recipes, but sometimes simplicity wins. A special mention goes to Salvatore Esposito, the manager and waiter, who welcomed us very warmly and made us feel at home from the very beginning. His hospitality alone is worth the visit even if his journey to the UK should perhaps not be for learning English!
