One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. Excellent fish, great service, wonderful atmosphere, and outstanding hospitality. All in all, 5 out of 5!

Coming to this restaurant means trusting the menu that Paolo, the chef and owner, has already created. It's worth coming if you're looking for exclusivity.

An excellent restaurant, with one of the last true innkeepers in Trieste. The atmosphere is intimate, warm, and extremely welcoming (though not very large). The dishes depend on the catch of the day: there's no menu, but the innkeeper suggests dishes and pairings, a choice I personally love and share when I treat myself to a meal out. The fresh, homemade pasta is excellent, and the sauces and combinations are delicate and perfect. Highly recommended, also for its value. I recommend expanding the dessert selection and offering vegetarian options in the evening.

The entrance, with its antique door, is a word-of-mouth favorite, and it's a very special place. The restaurant features period brick vaults, a warm atmosphere, and a strong sense of tradition. Come expecting a truly interactive and valuable—and I'd even say unique—human and culinary experience. You don't choose the menu: it's based on the catch of the day, and it's all incredibly good! Prepare to interact, because dining here isn't just about filling your mouth! We'll be back.

This osteria is a must-visit if you're in Trieste. Paolo and Donatella are exquisite. Delicious and delicious food. A top-notch! You eat what's available because it's authentic cuisine, only fresh, daily ingredients are used: and we ate everything, even mopping up the bread. You have to reserve by phone, otherwise you won't find a table. We'll definitely be back.

A unique experience in a restaurant with a casual and welcoming atmosphere. The set menu offered to all guests makes for a convivial dinner, with well-designed and carefully crafted dishes. It's family-run, with simple, authentic service. The food was excellent: quality ingredients, tasty preparation, and balanced portions. My only complaint: the final price seemed a bit high, but it's still an interesting and unusual place. Worth a try, especially if you're curious to enjoy something different in a unique setting.

15/12/2025: We tried the €70 per person tasting menu and the experience was truly excellent and enjoyable. ✨ Tasting Dishes ​The journey was a crescendo of interesting flavors and bold combinations, culminating in a flawless trio of desserts. ​Appetizers: ​Sea Bream Carpaccio with Coconut Cream and Lovage Oil: An extraordinary start. The delicacy of the sea bream meets the exotic sweetness of the coconut and the aromatic freshness of the lovage oil. A perfect combination of flavors. ​Venison Tartare, Giardiniera, Crescenza Cream, and Olive Terra: An amazing dish. The venison was completely delicate, surprisingly free of the expected "gamey" flavor, beautifully balanced by the savory flavor of the giardiniera and olives. Truly an excellent execution. ​Mushrooms, Potato Foam, Kimchi, Mayonnaise, and Yuzu Sphere: An excellent combination. The combination of the earthiness of the mushrooms and the fermented, savory touch of the kimchi was very balanced and intriguing, thanks to the citrusy note of the yuzu. ​First and Second Courses ​Parsley and Garlic Risotto with Snails: A rustic yet elegant first course, very well executed and flavorful. ​Octopus on a Cream of Celeriac and Puntarelle: A dish that never disappoints. Simple, but the cooking of the octopus and the bitterness of the puntarelle combined with the sweetness of the celeriac make it a winner. ​Desserts ​The meal concluded with a trio of high-quality desserts: ​Sorbet Sample ​Crème Catalana with Tonka Beans: Excellent! The tonka beans lend a spicy, vanilla-like aroma that elevates the classic crème Catalana. Chocolate Fondant Chips with Coffee Bavarian Cream 🤵 Service and Atmosphere ​The atmosphere is pleasant and the setting is refined. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive, helping to make the experience relaxing and professional. ​Only note: It's a shame we couldn't opt ​​for a wine pairing by the glass for the courses; maybe next time! ​Petes is highly recommended. It was a pleasant discovery, and we'll definitely be back to try other dishes we saw on the menu, like the Marrowbone, which piqued our curiosity. The wine list I consulted was excellent.
