An excellent restaurant, with one of the last true innkeepers in Trieste. The atmosphere is intimate, warm, and extremely welcoming (though not very large). The dishes depend on the catch of the day: there's no menu, but the innkeeper suggests dishes and pairings, a choice I personally love and share when I treat myself to a meal out. The fresh, homemade pasta is excellent, and the sauces and combinations are delicate and perfect. Highly recommended, also for its value.
I recommend expanding the dessert selection and offering vegetarian options in the evening.

The entrance, with its antique door, is a word-of-mouth favorite, and it's a very special place. The restaurant features period brick vaults, a warm atmosphere, and a strong sense of tradition. Come expecting a truly interactive and valuable—and I'd even say unique—human and culinary experience. You don't choose the menu: it's based on the catch of the day, and it's all incredibly good! Prepare to interact, because dining here isn't just about filling your mouth! We'll be back.

This osteria is a must-visit if you're in Trieste.
Paolo and Donatella are exquisite.
Delicious and delicious food. A top-notch!
You eat what's available because it's authentic cuisine, only fresh, daily ingredients are used: and we ate everything, even mopping up the bread.
You have to reserve by phone, otherwise you won't find a table.
We'll definitely be back.

A unique experience in a restaurant with a casual and welcoming atmosphere. The set menu offered to all guests makes for a convivial dinner, with well-designed and carefully crafted dishes. It's family-run, with simple, authentic service.
The food was excellent: quality ingredients, tasty preparation, and balanced portions.
My only complaint: the final price seemed a bit high, but it's still an interesting and unusual place.
Worth a try, especially if you're curious to enjoy something different in a unique setting.
