Excellent service, extremely friendly and professional staff

Small restaurant just outside the city center, with both indoor and outdoor seating. The garden is adjacent to two busy thoroughfares but is adequately protected by fences and hedges. There's no parking, but finding a spot in the area isn't difficult. The staff is helpful, courteous, and homely, but the highlight is definitely the seafood. We had a truly wonderful meal: cold appetizers, gratin dishes, pasta with peeled lobster, and a delicious Sanpiero with potatoes for three, all delicious! The price is obviously commensurate with the ingredients, but in my opinion, it's lighter than many other restaurants.

If you're looking for a place hidden among the houses of San Giacomo, I recommend "La Casetta de Mama." This little restaurant is a true gem, where you can enjoy delicious fresh fish in a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. The owner, with his warmth and humor, creates a pleasant atmosphere from the very first moment. What's truly unique (and makes all the difference) is the staff, extremely professional and attentive to the needs of their guests. Alessandro and Filippo deserve special mention for their kindness and helpfulness. Dining outside is very pleasant, especially on warmer evenings. However, it's important to keep in mind that "La Casetta de Mama" is a neighborhood restaurant, so it's not suitable for those seeking a seafood experience with a formal dress code. In short, "La Casetta de Mama" is an excellent choice for those seeking a fresh and authentic seafood restaurant with excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere.

A small, predominantly seafood restaurant with a welcoming outdoor area. The food is good, with generous portions and average prices. The mixed fried fish was well-cooked. The staff is welcoming; it's a family-run establishment. The young man was especially good. Luckily, they provided Autan, because unfortunately there are mosquitoes. The only thing the owners should be more careful about is managing certain guests' behavior, which could be annoying to others (both adults and children).

I would give it 10 stars. The food was excellent, the service was trilingual (Italian, English, and German), and it's a small, charming, hidden restaurant. A visit to Trieste shouldn't be complete without stopping here. 10 out of 10, enjoy.
