Trattoria Aldo In Catania

Una trattoria alla buona non adatta a chi cerca privacy e tovaglie di cotone. Servizio gentilissimo, veloce e tranquillo nonostante la grande affluenza. Il signor Aldo e la figlia Orsola ci hanno illustrato e consigliato alcuni piatti. Cucina locale semplice che offre tante specialità di terra e di mare gustose e a prezzi più che ragionevoli. Consigliato per chi non si formalizza e ha voglia di fare un salto in una delle poche trattorie rimaste!

Traditional trattoria with favourable prices and tasty meals. Opened 12-16 nearby Chiesa Gaetano alle Grotte and marketplace. Offer is wide from simple lunches as pasta and risottos to fishes, meat, salads... Sympathic place and staff is kind and cares well. Grazie

One of the best pastas I've ever tried! An inconspicuous place from the outside, but definitely worth a visit. Bravo!

Unfortunately we discovered that there are a few euros too many on the bill, we shouldn't be mistaken, the price is served on a piece of paper and doesn't specify anything about what you ate.

Typical food in a traditional restaurant

Amazing restaurant near the fish market! Feels like a welcomed by the whole family! You must must go for their roasted squid, superbly fresh and juicy!

We had lunch at this restaurant during our trip to Catania, on the recommendation of a friend. To reach the restaurant you need to climb the stairs and you find yourself in a very rustic but warm and familiar wooden environment, they sat us near the window where a light breeze allowed us to have lunch in perfect weather. The service was a bit cold, even though the owner at the checkout was very sociable and helpful. We took a small plate of appetizers from the buffet, I absolutely recommend trying it, one dish better than the other with a rich variety of traditional recipes (aubergine parmigiana, fried aubergines, omelette, marinated anchovies, mixed mushrooms, grilled vegetables, dried tomatoes, olives and much more). We shared a pasta alla norma and then had a portion of grilled veal meatballs and a portion of fried calamari. We absolutely recommend getting something grilled, it's their specialty and you can feel it. Unfortunately we were really full but we would have liked to try the mixed or strawberry fruit salad which was really inviting. If you are in Catania don't miss this local trattoria with authentic flavors!!
