Excellent restaurant. Outside there are several trattorias and for Aldina you have to go up to the first floor. There is a plaque at the entrance

Aldina, trattoria storica al primo piano in pieno centro della ghiotta Modena. Sempre piena, cucina della più solida tradizione, personale e titolare cordiali. Purtroppo la qualità dei piatti molto basica. Rostbeff freddissimo, gramigna precotta, per il pagamento solo il circuito bancomat, nessun tipo di carta di credito, sarebbe carino scriverlo almeno all'ingresso.

Locale dall'apparenza spartano e familiare: sembra di tornare indietro nel tempo. I piatti provati, molto buoni e tutti della tradizione locale.
Il locale non accetta prenotazioni, ma è molto efficiente nella gestione dei turni. Il proprietario è molto gentile e professionale. Il personale, pronto, gentile e efficiente.
Attenzione perché è possibile pagare solo in contanti o con bancomat, non è predisposto il pagamento con carta di credito.

We were there yesterday June 1st. The place, familiar but very well kept, was quite crowded. We managed to get a seat, with a bit of luck, as a queue would form shortly afterwards (!!). Despite this, the service was quick (without being rushed) and attentive. The table was comfortable. We had tortellini in broth and rosettes with roast sauce. Absolutely sufficient quantities without being too abundant and of excellent quality. Done really well. For the second course we had piglet with balsamic and scamorza with spinach. Even these dishes are made very well and truly tasty and are always in adequate quantities and not exaggerated.
We drank some water and half a liter of Sangiovese wine. We spent €40. The only negative note was the wine, which wasn't that great... Overall an excellent experience. I will definitely go back and recommend it
2024 update
Aldina confirms itself as an excellent restaurant where you can eat traditional Modenese food. Again tortellini for 2 (always excellent) sausage with mashed potatoes and balsamic fillet steak with potatoes and green beans. Mascarpone trifle 1 bottle of Sangiovese for 1 grappa €95. Deserved one by one. After 9 years of 4 stars I'm happy to add a fifth.
