Pleasant and beautiful discovery!! 2 adults and 2 children (5 and 8 years old), very qualified staff and sublime cuisine. My son says the chef is unique and we can't blame him. We will definitely be back

We were last night in this magnificent place: The owner immediately introduced us, telling us that it wasn't just any place but like being at home. Impeccable welcome, unique friendliness, high quality mise en place. Beautiful and one-of-a-kind glasses, unique wine list: next to the name of the wine, the vintage and the cellar, there is a photo of the label of each individual wine... chapeau! Food literally told by Mr. Giancarlo, the owner, with simplicity but great attention and above all love for his work. Exceptional quality. Sincere congratulations to Giancarlo and all his staff for the unique experience they made us live.

We had dinner in this wonderful living room... yes, because Giancarlo welcomed us just like in the living room of his home with the utmost simplicity and his story to tell, to celebrate my birthday! The place is elegant and simple at the same time, warm and welcoming. We chose a tasting based entirely on products from the Umbrian territory.. Each course of the chosen tasting truly contained a story and each bite was a sensorial journey: every single ingredient on the plate was part of the symphony that exploded on taste... We were really happy and amazed to try such an experience which really moved us... as I concluded last night: every course is orgasmic! Congratulations indeed.

Located in the town of Montone (beautiful medieval village ... worth visiting). I entrusted myself to the care of chef Giancarlo, I was lucky enough to taste amazing dishes in particular a smoked roe deer with olive embers, tagliolini with hare and truffle broth, duck with balsamic vinegar and a delicious chocolate and salted caramel dessert and berries. The wine list is sumptuous. An obligatory stop. Highly recommended. Elegant location, punctual and unobtrusive service. Too bad about the rainy day 🤷🏽‍♂️. We weren’t sure if the hotel had a restaurant or if the restaurant had a hotel above it, but we were fortunate enough to experience both. We stayed here in July 2024 as part of our honeymoon during the Umbria Film Festival. The hotel exudes an absolutely charming vibe, with hospitality that’s second to none. The rooms are comfortable and spotless. Pro tip: upgrade to a superior room, and you’ll be treated to a lovely terrace where you can soak in the village's sights and sounds while sipping a glass of prosecco, waiting for your wife to get ready for dinner. And trust me, the dinner will be nothing short of magnificent—possibly the best I’ve ever had in Italy, and that’s saying something. We’ll be planning our future trips to Italy to ensure Montone and La Locanda del Capitano are always on the itinerary. With love, Pintyő and Daniel

As you enter the location strikes you, it is beautiful. The professionalism of the chef and the staff is perceived at first sight and then you understand that it is exactly like that. The food is of quality and is served by a very good waiter who is the chef's son, obviously the chef is Michelin starred... the chef always invents new menus and they are all good... we go there every year as we have occasion

Chef Polito is a truly wonderful person. His welcome and that of his staff make the difference. Always ready for advice and to talk about the choices made whether it be raw materials or wines. The atmosphere is very nice and relaxed, convivial. The terrace, where we had dinner, is very suggestive and well-kept.

Posto molto accogliente con personale gentile e professionale. Ottimi piatti e vini, accompagnati da spiegazioni sull'origine e la preparazione. Bella la location, musica jazz, rilassante ed originale.
