My husband and I stayed for New Year's Eve and left on January 2nd. We both stayed and dined at the Locanda, and it was a wonderful experience! Everyone was very kind, and the dinner was superb! Breakfast was meticulously prepared, with a different dessert made every day by the owner of the Locanda! Highly recommended! We'll be back soon! Anna and Daniele from Jesi

Once again, we had the pleasure of dining at La Locanda del Capitano... this time to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Having lived in Umbria for the past four and a half years, we have grown to truly appreciate fine food and wine, and for me as a passionate food and wine lover, there is simply no better place than this culinary jewel in Montone. Chef Giancarlo Polito is more than just a master in the kitchen... he is a true gentleman. His genuine care for his guests and his dedication to creating unforgettable dining experiences set this restaurant apart. Every visit feels special, thanks to the perfect combination of exquisite cuisine, warm hospitality, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay much longer. We absolutely love it here, and La Locanda del Capitano continues to be one of the highlights of our life in Umbria.

The kindness of Chef Giancarlo and his entire team ensured a wonderful stay (as usual, this is our fourth visit and we live in Turin) in an enchanting medieval village. The hospitality was warm and the food and wine selection superb at the two connected restaurants. Osteria Tipico offers top-quality local cuisine paired with a thoughtful selection of wines (and cocktails, including a memorable Negroni) by head sommelier Paolo. At Locanda Giancarlo delighted us with a dinner that wasn't Michelin-starred (according to the culinary business model) but was stellar, with seafood pairings that hark back to his Salento roots and Umbrian cuisine, expertly showcased in his preparations. What a shame to have to leave!

11/05/2025: Mi sono recato in questo ristorante assieme alla mia fidanzata durante una gita a Spello. Il locale sorge lungo il corso principale del paese, a due passi dalla cattedrale ed offre sia posti all'interno che all'esterno. Le sale interne sono situate dentro un grottino che rendono l'atmosfera molto romantica, il tutto arredato in maniera raffinata e di classe. Consiglio vivamente di iniziare con un ottimo Antipasto di di Salumi misti, oppure con delle buona Tartare. Tra i primi assolutamente consigliati i Tagliolini in Crema di Asparagi oppure i Tortelli ripieni alla Carbonara. Come dessert eccezionale il Tiramisu'. Innaffiate il tutto con un ottimo Rose' di Sagrantino frizzante e passerete senza dubbio una fantastica esperienza. Prezzi decisamente sopra la media del posto ma come detto prima il locale e' di un livello di raffinatezza di molto superiore rispetto alle altre taverne turistiche vicine.
